  1. [ x ] Shit happens. My 2 cents: Don't worry about refunds too much, if you manage to find out what the problem is (design change, revision problems, ...) that's all that I'd be interested in ;-)
  2. MIDIOx.
  3. Working on it.
  4. Well, a lot of people got their "base" PCBs and are now looking for addon boards. This is what this potential bulk order is for. It's a good idea for a future one though.

Öhm, naja auf beide Cores sollte die SID software, sonst wird das nüscht.

Core 2 scheint noch die change_id software drauf zu haben ;) setup_8580_meiner.hex
  8. If you don't care how long it takes - wait patiently and silently. Besides it's not only about *fast* shipping, but about shipments that actually make it to their destination. You don't have to agree with anything. Just as much as you don't have to order from Smash. Note: "In the past". That's not working anymore. Tough luck.

    Die Characters die Du angeziegt bekommst sind: 0x30 0x5F 0x2F 0x3F 0x4F 0x6F -> binär -> 0011 0000, (O) 0101 1111, 0010 1111, 0011 1111, 0110 1111 Sollten also die Nullen eigentlich O's sein, würde die 0011 0000 wegfallen und offensichtlich was mit den Datenleitungen nicht passen.
  11. Death is most likey going to happen first. I'd say one can get to around #13 on that list before certain death occurs.
  12. Yes. Boards are being made, my pokey has most likely gone over the Jordan and I need to get a new one (anyone wanna donate one?) some minor testing routines have been implemented. Everything is moving along... Slowly.
  13. The tone of your post is quite demanding. You don't really need anything but time and endurance. Lots of both. First you get the datasheets of the sound chip, then make up some hardware, buy the parts, assemble it then look at a lot of source of emulators for that sound chip (iirc MAME has an excellent APU emu), write some software, beta test it and release it. Done. Sounds simple. Isn't quite as simple. I should know.[me=nILS Podewski]looks at bugfight[/me]
  14. Deal. That means I'll have to sell my mom, but hey. Although they actually offered 30 camels and 20 goats for her in Tunis. What will I do with all those goats...
  15. If the number of boards likely to be sold goes >100 I'll do it :-) Keep the ideas coming as well!
  16. [ x ] Don't assume [ x ] Never rule out bad soldering/joints [ x ] Reburn the PIC (make sure to have your programmer read/compare it after burning) Cimo: Awwww, she is soooo cute. When can I marry her?
  17. PWND. ;D
  18. DenDer: You do realize the opto is hooked up to the MIDI In, right? So, your answer is, um, kinda pointless ::) Dondo: Try running all the MIDI Troubleshooting tests as described on ucapps.de. Then post the results here :-)
  19. [me=nILS Podewski]looks over to lemonhorse[/me] Yay, I got mine, too ;-)
  20. Make that 125mA to be on the safe side. Then disconnect it and put the vreg back in and hook it up to a wallwart ;-) The answer is on the forum btw. Somewhere... buried in the depths of the forum. About the MIDI. Please do as doc says
  21. Strohplex: Good boy. Shipping can and does often take longer than expected for no apparent reason, so before you post/write PMs always remember that "Patience is a virtue" and put yourself in the position of someone spending a lot of time packing tons of boards/chips/kits and sending them out *just to help you* - instead of spending time with their family/friends.
  22. Hiya leecyrille :-) So far, your problem could have about 37 million reasons - let's rule out some. - Did you measure the voltages on the core? Are they ok? - Your boards seem to have come from smash, so I assume you PIC was bought preburned from him, too? If that's all correct so far, let's debug the MIDI setup - please follow the guide linked below and post the results here! http://www.ucapps.de/howto_debug_midi.html
  23. You can reuse all the boards, you'll have to make some minor changes to them though (add a resistor here, add a diode there, ...). There's a slight problem in your setup concept though. The way you want to set the thing up (2CORES->4SID) it's not recommended to mix different SIDs in a stereo pair, which you'd have to do (6581 + 8580) as the filters sound differently, some combined waveforms don't work and so on. There's a thread partially about that here
  24. It appears the fab used a different set of design rules than you. Lesson learned: next time, get theirs and punch the values into eagle to check your design :-)
