If the few mA that the opamps pull are above the minimum current draw of your atx power supply, then technically yes. Most PC power supplies will introduce a lot of noise audible though.

Pots/encoders: Matter of taste. Encoders are always in the correct position, but don't give visible feeback about it unless you have led rings, while pots always do but lead to parameter jumps. Extra buttons: If you just want a hardware CS to add real knobs to that app - no you don't. Display: The display can show whatever you want it to. It's not needed for the box to work, but it's extremely handy for testing (a small 2x16 will work for that). It might work well for the drop down lists (one row per list, if I got it right you have two). AIN module: You only need that if you have more than 8 analog inputs (pots/faders) Jog wheel: A jog wheel is just en encoder. Nothing really fancy there. Motor faders: If you want motorfaders, you'll also need a MF module.

Try the ain64_din128_dout128_v2b app (less is sometimes more). Your pot (is it ~10k?) most likely has 3 pins (as in the attached pic). A goes to Ground, B goes to the J5 pin and C goes to +5V. If that doesn't work - show some pics! edit: whoops. forgot the pic :-)

Rabid prototyping hehehe, kein Wunder dass das nicht so tut wie's soll. Vielleicht ein bisschen mehr rapid und dafür mit weniger Tollwut :-) Schönes Ding ihr zwei!

Ich hab kürzlich ein "weiß auf schwarz" LCD bei dem hier gekauft, richtig hübsch :-) Der scheint allerdings im Moment nur 16x2 und Grafikdisplays zu haben.

Das sind die Buchsenleisten, die ich auch meistens nehme. Allerdings nehme ich immer die Länge, bei der man die meisten Pins/Euro kriegt ;) Die Displays scheinen tatsächlich im Moment alle zu sein, allerdings können 2-3 Euro mehr durchaus lohnenswert sein, wenn man dann die Farbe kriegt, die man will (ich mag blau nicht).

Für Displays ist eBay eigentlich das schlauste. 3.95€ inkl Versand für ein 2x20 in nahezu jeder beliebigen Farbe, direkt aus Hong Kong (bei mir zuletzt) in 5 Tagen... Auf Mike PCBs hab ich (wenn ich mich recht erinner) immer normale Buchsenleisten genommen (das war bevor ich crimpen für mich entdeckt hab). Die werden einfach mit der Zange auf die richtige Länge geknipst (achtung, dabei geht ein Kontakt flöten).

Stecker: Ja, das Rastermaß ist 2.54mm (100mil), welche Buchsen du nimmst ist Geschmackssache. Ich hab beide Varianten erfolgreich verwendet, crimpen ist natürlich weniger Arbeit, und weniger fehleranfällig. Kabel: 16-polig passt, lässt sich ja leicht teilen, und was dickeres brauchst Du eher nicht. Display: Wieder Geschmackssache. Die Dogs sind recht klein und kommen in verschiedenen Farben sind allerdings auch ein gutes Stück teurer, als das, was man so bei eBay kriegt.

Tobsen, I applaud your willingness to do this bulk order (although I strongly doubt you have any idea what you are getting yourself into). On the other hand, you're going about this the wrong way imo. 1) This is going to be a big bulk order. I am not sure if I would want someone I neither know nor have done any business with as of yet and of whom I don't even know if he's ever handled a bulk order (let alone one of this size). 2) Before jumping the gun and starting this, you certainly could and in my opinion definitely should have asked TK if it's okay that you do that and Smash if he's ready and willing to do that order. Contacting Smash after you already announced the order is not really the nice way to go about things. You're basically offering to sell an unknown number of core32 pcbs and kits, not even knowing how many are in existence. 3) The board in your pictures is not what's being shipped. Generally not a good thing to do. 4) I do understand that for some reason people are very excited and can't wait to get their hands on a core32. Still: go easy on this. The core32 hasn't even been announced yet and you're already in full-blown megasale mode. Patience is a virtue.

Ich hab auch ein paar von denen, und finde die sind, naja, eher suboptimal ;) Nicht so sehr wegen der Funktion, mehr wegen der Form und Verarbeitung.

Viel musst Du nicht machen, das skeleton ist bereits lauffähig, alles was da rein muss ist bei MIDI In -> Relais schalten. Wenn Du erstmal Deine hardware zusammen hast, und das je nicht hinkriegst, gibt's hier haufenweise hilfreiche Leutchen, die Dir unter die Arme greifen ;)

Technically there's no level. But I am not going to order less than 100 boards cause that would make holding the price level even harder (read: even more impossible ;)) The more I order, the cheaper they are and the more likely they are not to be more expensive for you guys.

Sure it's possible. It's highly unlikely but certainly possible. Gold-plated knobs are kinda pricey for instance.
