  1. I loved the sound when you did a flip on the bmx and didn't quite make it ;D
  2. me: Childhood fascination with the sound ;)
  3. Yep, thought so, diodes are virtually indestructable - chances that you blew one are slim. As said before - do the MIDI Troubleshooting and tell us the results.
  4. 42.
  5. I am working on an online patchShare database with automated uploader etc. atm. I hope that this will help the few people that actually make presets spread them ;) You might wanna wait a bit with that as it's a *lot* of work and rumour has it that sth similar is in the making, too.
  6. I am afraid not. Buying/selling midiboxes (which this would essentially be) is not allowed due to the midibox user license. If you want one you will have to build it yourself. It's DIY after all. A lot of people come in here regularly and feel exactly what you are going through atm. It seems like an incredibly hard thing to tackle. It really isn't. If you look around the forum a bit you'll notice that there's a lot of people around here helping noobies like you getting their projects up and running. And we've seen a lot of "I can't do it... Oh wait - it's working!" around here ;) Just do some reading, see what you need, if you have questions - ask. It's really not some electronics voodoo, everything is well documented and more than beginner friendly - give it a shot, the satisfaction of having built your own mbSeq will make having it so much better!
  7. Possibly. There are a bunch of extras which I will sell after the main bulk order is through.
  8. It doesn't quite ;-) It says 10uF and 100nF. That's a pretty big difference as the 100nF cap is not one of those big, round electrolytic capactitors.
  9. Hehe, even googling that helps. It's the first hit: click me!
  10. The midibox LTC has a LED driver on it so you can check out that schem at ucapps.de. What I did in the gm5x5x5 was to simply use an inverter (74HC14) to buffer the signal and the (the schem for that is linked to from a thread in the forum, search for "midi splitter").
  11. Since cimo's post spawned a wave of "where's my board" PMs: What Sahira is holding up there is one of the prototypes - not from the bulk order ;) It's New Years in China so everything moves a bit slower/not at all over there.
  12. Nice, is that one of the pollin transformers? Kinda looks like one :-) I think I need to build that kinda "AOUT" too to test my SSM boards.
  13. Cheap wallwarts have a tendency to output more voltage when no current is drawn - turn the box on and measure the voltage across J1 - see if that still gives you the 3V more than you'd expect. If so - run it on whatever gives your somewhere between 7V and 10V.
  14. ;D
  15. 8.92V is ok. Feel free to quote me on that.
  16. Yes, you probably wired it wrong. How about you take a photo - that should make that pretty easy to see ;)
  17. Can be done, but involves quite a bit of asm coding.
  18. Nice! Keep the updates coming :-)
  19. Try to use the "edit" feature on the post. Easier to read than triple-posts. After the 7805 it should be 5V +- next to nothing. 4.9V - 5.1V is okay. Pretty much everything outside of that means there's something not like it should be. Maybe get a new (better, possibly more reliable) meter? You could measure the voltage in your PC (if you know what you're doing). PC psus tend to be very precise on the 5V and 12V. If your meter drifts, you can blame the meter. No midi out + fiddling with the cables sounds like a cabling issue to me.
  21. Both input pins ground -> ground at output is correct. Nice idea indeed.
  22. The ratings are maximum ratings. If you think about it for a second and look at the PSU you are using you'll have your answer :-) (Either one will work.)
  23. PMs are only saved in your outbox when you tick the "save copy in outbox" checkbox ;)
  24. "Just under 4V" seems kinda low for anything to work really. You wanna have 5V. So first find out why you only have 4V. Voltage reg dead? Hooked up wrong?
  25. ...and for everyone else who might run into the same problem you wanted to say some words about your solution here, right? ;)
