sounds like you've got a short.... you need to swap the DINs one at a time to see which one is faulty. test each DIN on it's own, then try swapping them around to see if it's the DIN boards, or possibly the cable connecting them also you might want to upload one of the testing applications to help you debug
-
or you could program the MIOS app to do a table lookup, which might be easier to impliment
-
it can be done with the remote scripting...
-
yah, they would be log. Cimo already said that, but it took 2 or so reads for me to notice it too ;)

Updated core module, cant seem to make it do anything.

grab MIOS Studio and use it to upload the Hex file for the project. it's usually called main.hex -
there will be, but you've got to wait patiently.... p.s. B.jamin - you've gotta be patient fella, everyone is doing this out of the kindness of their heart and the uCapps community spirit.

nice work Cimo, I've got a feeling that info is going to come in very handy for me in a little while.... I did all my PCB layouts in FreeHand, and I'll need to do them in Eagle before long, do you think the technique you described will help this poor fool in his quest?
-
I love you too smash! ;D That's all coolio, especially as it doesn't make much sense building the control surface till you've built the base. Did your search for suitable powersupply ever bear any fruit?
-
You can certainly count me in for 1 of the kits (but then I think you knew that anyways)... Have you got any plans for doing a kit for the control PCB (minus the LCD)?
-
i'd give it a few more days then drop him an email via his site...

I finally got my package today (UK postal crapulance caused the delay)!!! PCBs and SIDs, happy happy joy joy! Thank you so much Wilba...
-
nice work! you've built a working core and answered your own question :) what you planning to do with that hardware now, what's the project??
-
I could use the same! a vector based AI or FH would be great, or a PSD or TIFF

I can report smashTV is alive and well (at least of 2 days ago), and very busy... Smash is great at getting back to people, but sometimes it takes a little while longer than others, his midibox store is a labour of love for the community rather than a cash cow

fair enough if you only want to build a SID on 1 board, but that's not the point of uCapps - it's about DIY, and it's about learning about electronics. uCapps has been described to me as a crash course in electronics with a "hot-rod" midibox as an end result. of course you would still have had to make a box and front panel for the Nuxx - have you got the knowledge and experience to do that? I really would encourage you to build a midibox SID, but if you want there are synths like the SidStation out there to buy ready made.

if you know javascript to a decent level you'll have no problems at all.... best place to start is to download the C source files and have a look at them - once you see how close they are to JS everything else is a try and compile and or a google away.... of couse you'll need to setup the SDCC enviroment (much easier than getting most commerical dev boxes up and running in a given environment) and a couple of other things set up before you can compile, but the docs are pukka so it's all good....

I was wondering if anything like this would show up, doing the PCBs is pretty much like doing a print run and anytime I've done a print run, there is usually at least one typo - it's sod's law.... It's even harder not to let a tiny glitch slip though when you don't have at least one extra set of eyes looking over the whole job to proof it. given the complexity of the project I'd say this little glitch is definately "within tolerance", and definately a big win for Wilba and everyone else who's benifiting from the time and effort W has put in. I can't wait to get my iron fired up.....

hi joe, welcome to the board! excellent! at least one good thing will have come out this whole distasteful ebay affair. you are so right! don't get me wrong, having a midibox sid is hella cool, but having the knowledge you will gain will be a lot cooler (maybe not in a getting chicks to come home with you way) and you'll find the real rewards will come later when you find yourself doing things you never even thought you could/would with electronics. I'm pretty sure you'll get your SID together, you've waited this long, so take your time, enjoy the ride. Kits from smash and help from the folks round here will take the whole "impossibility" factor out and make it a learning curve.

TK421 you have 20 seconds to comply
-
Consumer - just put a huge bid on the item, and refuse to pay when you win, reason: counterfeit goods. What’s more important to you; your eBay reputation, or your midibox reputation and doing the right thing to fix a situation of your own making (albeit you were acting with good intentions and someone has used that to do evil)?
-
you'll need to upload an application into MIOS if you haven't already....
-
I will destory that image tag and the preview it's conspiring with against the might mighty forum preview (yes i checked it, but was fooled like the son of a goat i am).. and back to the game - mmmmm, lief why is your face red? you're a base head!
-
now i am dying to know - why is this useful to you as opposed to using 2 midi channels???
