SHIPPED: LCD 20x4 for MB6582, red-on-black: Europe order
Goblinz replied to Kartoshka's topic in Bulk Orders
Is there a way of changing the code so that he middle 2 lines are used? It would fulfill my sense of symetry a lot better! Kartoshka, Just paid the paypal invoice, sorry it's a couple of days late, I didn't get a notification email. G -
Not really a BOM, but lists what you need. http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/wilba_mb_6582_control_surface_parts_list. If you make up a BOM in excel then maybe you could upload it somewhere and post the link on the Wiki, or maybe do a parts list set out like the one for the base PCB here http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/wilba_mb_6582_parts_list and add it to the Wiki. I'm sure a lot of people would find it useful. G

I'm really liking darkspy,, don't know how i've gone so long without hearing of them. Found a DJ called "Malice in Wonderland" which is proper full on Darckside stuff. Still got alot of the suggestions to check out. Can anybody suggest any Prog stuff? Not something I really listen to as I prefer the fullon stuff but I heard a few tracks by a frence group called Cryptic (or kryptic, not usre how it's spelt) which is proper dirty electro prog trance, definitely need to get hold of some. I can't comment on the neccessary circuit for your case but I have a friend who is a (proffessional) busker. He uses a fairly small lead-acid car type battery on a little trolley with a seat on top and an attached umbrella. He also has a car amp in the box and a speaker mounted in there too. It does everthing hee wants it to and he has somewhere to sit whilst playing the guitar. With a bit of thought and effort you could build the perfect setup for yourself. G

UK/Europe Bulk order of "Waldorf" knobs for the MB-6582 (CLOSED)

It is suprising. Wilba must put a lot of time into the SID buys. It think helps to have a spreadsheet containing all the details. G -

Knobs were sent out yesterday (saturday) Cimo, I now have your full address and will post your order out in the next couple of days when I get chance to pop down to town. I will be setting up the next bulk order in the next couple of days so anybody else requiring knobs please post there. G -
Can someone define what a burr is? A couple of the holes pn my panal have small scratched round them through the anodised layer and into the aluminium. The labels on the envelope section are dodgy too, they are all too close to the knob holes apart from the release label. How can they move 4 labels on that section and not the 5th one, it looks like they've done some serious re-alligningI wonder if they've done this because the text goes very close to the edge of the panal... It's still not on though, all changes should be approved by the customer, especially when they made such a mss the first time. The most annoying thing is that the ATTACK/CURVE ATT label on mine has a blackblob through the text. I can touch up the scratches with a marker and maybe paint the letters on the blob, the misplaced labels are going to be a problem though. I think the panal will be still usable and we did get a good price on it so I can cope with it. SOmething should be said to the panal manufacturer though, maybe Altitude could send an email saying that he's sent htese all iver the world and is recieving multiple complaints that the panals aren't up to spec or what was ordered and hope for a refund (/partial refund). At the very least the company should fund the postage of these panals to be returned and re-printed with the correct laballing. G

I don't know what is in it either... I want one though! It would save the hassle of sorting parts out from various places understandably though SmashTV is going to be very busy for a little while with the baseboard kits. Maybe a control surface kit would be something to consider when everybody has their baseboards built up and Smash has had time to take a break from the kit-mine and sit down with a nice cup of tea and a biscuit. Cool, will add it then. Never added something to a wiki before, that's why I was being so cautious and not just jumping in. G
-
Can/shall I add the link to the Wiki then? I notice there's a dead link on there too.. the one from NASA. G

It may be better in that other thread as it is a very good guide. I put it in here as I knew there was a thread in existence but couldn't find it and didn't know the best place for it. G

Great stuff, that's what we've been waiting to hear. G

Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased with the deal. I'm just not pleased with the UK government for screwing more taxes out of me... no change there then. G

Yes, I don't think we need to worry about buttons for a little while. Personally I want to get my MB-6582 out of the way first so am taking opertunities of any bulk buys and leaving construction till later, mainly so that I can learn from everybody elses mistakes ;D I expect that there are a few of us who are going to take a while to get this built. I'd prefer to get the PCBs sorted, then look at group buying rare parts, before looking at cases, panals, buttons and then finally all the other parts. Although, it's up to everybody on here as to how they want to do things. G -
Had exactly the same problem. I posted on another forum asking if there was a way round having to pay it and somebody expleained to me how the charge was calculated... 25% is quite a large amount to have to pay so it's best to take it into account. I'm not sure what would happen if you couldn't pay it, ie how long they would keep your goods before returning/destroying them . Well, at least they're still delivering the mail at the moment! G
-
No need to apologise at all, I think everybody on this forum understands the amount of work you put in to mining all these SIDS and distributing them. I was just unsure of whether you'd sent the email or whether hotmail had eaten it! G
-
I'm not sure if this is the right board for this so please can a mod move it if there's a more appropriate place. Hackaday have just published a fairly indepth soldering howto which pretty much covers everything. You can find it at http://www.hackaday.com/2007/10/26/how-to-introduction-to-soldering/. If you're daunted about starting your project because of lack of soldering experience then this guide should be of great value G

Is it faesible to install an OS on to compact flash like this? I remember reading that they only have a certain amount of read/rights before they start oing corrupt and become unusable. I suppose it wouldn't matter too much when looking at the cost of a card tha size but would mean regukar back-ups. Maybe an old laptop hard-drive would last longer.
