  1. Hmnn... Not sure what I feel about this. Personally I'm not a fan of the military, but if there's the option of doing "civil service" then it's not so bad. In the UK we have a real Yob culture (Chavs), who are generally fairly young youth's who enjoy drinking cheap cider and mugging people and filming it on their mobiles. I expect that something like national service would put them in line. Having said that, when I was younger I would have hated being forced in to the military. G
  2. I'm no expert, but I prefer the second one. Although they sound pretty similar, the second one has more bite to it. G
  3. Is there a compulsary military service system in Germany? What happens if you refuse? G
  4. I've just been given a Korg micro-preset M-500 SP. I don't know much about it, only that it's fairly low end... Not many knobs, not even a decay and no polyphoney. Apparently it needs a little tap to turn it on so sounds like a bad joint, I've not had this problem yet. I've been told I'm not allowed to modify it. Has anybody had experience of these synths? The modulation depth slider doesn't seem to do anything at all, it could be that i'm using it wrong so would appreciate some ffedback on this. I think it may be a bad pot/connection but am a bit reluctant to take it to pieces as it's mains voltage. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. G
  5. I dunno, I wasn't impressed with the fill level of my pint in the German youth hostel last year. The guy half filled it and then went to the reception desk and spent 20 minutes signing people in before reluctantly coming and filling it up by another quarter...... Not even a pint and flat and warm, the only redeeming thing was that I could sit in a bar and have a cigerette for the first time in 2 months.... Please tell me they aren't banning indoor smoking in Germany too! G ***NB, I aren't saying that all German pints are substandard****
  6. Not too sure about that thing... Would it do a full pint? Notice the beer with an oversized European head... In the UK we have customs and excise to make sure our pints are filled up to the mark and nothing less. G
  7. Aww, come on Wilba, we all know that's a lie. It's soon going to be common knowledge that you have a huge stack of PCBs to give out only to the persistant natterers. People should also know about the parts kits that you are also putting together and hading out for free to anybody who bothers you with over 100 PMs or personal emails. Not to mention the fully built MB-6582 you are giving away completely free on a monthly basis to the person who sends you the longest, most detailed whiniest email. It's only fair that this is common knowledge, you gotta play by the rules dude. *WHACK* G
  8. I don't trust surface mail (just incase it falls overboard.... SPLASH! ) so always make sure that everything gets an airmail sticker. G
  9. So Wilba has a large stash of spare PCBs set aside then and is happy to send them out to anybody who nags persistantly ;D ***Goblinz stands well back from Wilba's in box as it starts to explode****
  10. Thank's Sasha, I appreciate the effort. Get a rough quote and let me know how much it will be. Are they going to be red? I like the red one, it would go nicely with my red LCD and knobs. :D G
  11. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means! LOL, watched that last week. Tis my favourite film! G
  12. Would this work? http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,10229.0.html? Not a sequencer, but it's a cheap way of recording midi on to SD so that you can play it back. G
  13. Damn, was hoping to see some really wierd synth type contraption then :D
  14. Just out of interest, what bits of the organ were you using for a custom Guitar DIY project? G
  15. Hi..,. Where were you 3 months ago? I have a MB-6582 panel which I'm looking ot get rescreened as a couple of the labels are off center and the ink is poor quality. I've already JB welded the threaded spacers on underneath though... Will this matter or do you need a completely flat surface? I'd love to have my panel decorated with a red design on to go withmy backlit knobs and red LCD so will have a look at designing something to go along witht he original panel design. G
  16. Nice one, thanks again for sorting this out. G
  17. Yes, it's been mentioned before on here that if they see lots of samples going out and not many big orders that they may get the impression that it isn't worth carrying on manufacturing the chip. G
  18. Yeh, I know that... I'm really quite chiffed with how i go ton all these bulk orders. I found this forum through hackaday while all the organisation for bulks had been started, but managed to sneak in on the end of a few orders all stealth like and all :D Don't really want people to think that I messed about with payment or anything tho. I kind of like being last though.. tis always good to get the first or last of something, anything in between doesn't count *whack*
  19. Hmnn.... Roughly how many peanuts?
  20. This should really be in the parts questions section! Check out the fleamarket thread... http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,10589.0.html Unit sound has 6 x CEM3382 for 25 EUR each, I'm not sure where he's based though, but I'm sure he could post to Italy for you. G
  21. LOL, in last at number 90.... Is this list used for the parts kits ordering (I wish I had found this community/group buy sooner!). We should maybe get some of those little serial number labels made up for everyone. I wonder who is going to end up with number 6582? :D G
  22. Rapid online. I didn't mention it here as I thought it was quite a common thing (I quite liked the idea of mine being slightly different to everybody elses too). I got two colours, but unfortunately the amber ones look justthe same as the red when lit.... I'm going to desolder some and replace with some yellow ones when I get chance. Here's the link http://www.rapidonline.com/productinfo.aspx?tier1=Electronic+Components&tier2=Optoelectronics&tier3=3Mm+Leds&tier4=Cylindrical+3mm+LED&moduleno=29332 I shall be ordering some at the end of the week. If you want me to add some on to the order then we can sort something out. G
  23. Bah! Do any of these companies every get their fabrication right? After the MB-6582 front panal fiasco I wouldn't have expected something like this to happen within the same community.... These kind of problems must happen quite regularly to crop up 3 times (twice with the front panal) within the same community. I expect that this company does orders batches of 1000's of boards for some companies so you'd thinkt hey would learn to get things right the first time. Thanks for your time and effort with this Sasha, hopefully they'll get them right this time and we can get them delievered within the month. G
  24. I got hold of some cylindrical 3mm LEDS for my matrix, they look good when they are flush with the front panal. ;D G
  25. Yes, bit of a shame. There's nothing to stop you from getting some white knobs and painting the stripes another colour though. I would think that some sort of (UV?) spray paint would work well if you used a brush to apply it. Knobs have been collected from the post office... I am currently counting them all out and packing them and will post them on Friday/Saturday. G
