  1. cool! so the new boards are green! i got mine early december and they're red. i've only built the power supply so far, and all sockets (also for the transistors). i haven't made the big order yet, as i was not sure about some cap spacings too, and also not about the type. i was tempted to start soldering in the resistors, as i should have at least most of them in stock. i've also bought the rare parts kit from Gaetano. in fact i've started so many projects that i just manage to get through all of them step by step, ie very slowly.... i'll watch your blog!
  2. if you really don't need any buttons/encoders you actually need just 3 little pcbs that are very easy to make, really. but i doubt that you'll find many offers. maybe a sammich every now and then, who knows. building may be faster
  3. yeah that's still about 1k cheaper than the original
  4. sold! thanks for your interest!
  5. tapeworms! yuck! just this threat should already work
  6. i can't give detailed advice, sorry. to build your hex and upload make sure you follow the step by step description at ucapps.de regarding the merge, i believe there is a merge function in the MB64 setup.asm, that can be switched on. i had a look at the MB64 recently too, but i haven't understood everything. just i saw it mentioned somewhere.... sorry
  7. sorry, should the other guy change his mind you're the next in line. but no need to bid, it's not an auction. btw the 8580 is not so hard to find. there are always some on ebay and if you have paypal there should be someone willing to ship to argentina.
  8. there's just this one pair, already spoken for. generally speaking, international shipping via unregistered mail is about 3.45€ in flat padded envelope, i know that for sure for the US, in europe the same, so there wouldn't be much difference to argentina i think.
  9. oh man i still haven't built this. it's getting embarassing now...... great news and interesting progress! i know some day i'll play with it. at least i can flash my pics now
  10. are you going to write a walkthrough? i could use it, you're not the only one
  11. regarding 'customer support' and build- and kit quality of technology transplant / mode machines related products there's a lot of information over at the adafruit forums. i also think spamming and the like would rather look like helpless attempts to give some bad feelings back to the sender, which won't cause as much effort than doing their own r&d to be able to offer a true, honest, interesting product, instead of just making quick cash with the creative work AND PROPERTY of others. in this case it should be possible to take more appropriate measures. actually i don't quite get it why people really decide to spend hundreds of bucks for this kind of kits/builds while there are really trustworthy sources available (like willzyx and x0xsh0p). they're not even cheaper. while these are sold we all know that there WILL be people who are willing to buy pirate MB6582, also for 1495€, even a ROLLIN MOSS base board, because they have the dough and can't be bothered to diy. speaking of dough that's really what makes the midibox so friendly and positve: it's not about cash. if TK wanted to make just cash, i'm sure he would have been able to start a business and make it. instead he creates a community, which none of the fakers do, and provides really awesome projects for free private use. that means for EVERYONE, regardless of the $. and there are other people acting in the same spirit and also provide THEIR designs and work (and lifetime that they could also use to actually make money if this was so important). i'm glad that all these guys keep on doing this kind of work, there wouldn't be any MB6582, sammich XX, kaffeSEQ, seppoman VCF/VCA etc etc, or even the mbhp platform itself, in this form, if it had been just for dough. but if ripping them off becomes acceptable (salonfähig) that's frustrating and it might change their minds, who knows. so, don't buy fakes from people who don't know whether 'their new products' have 1V/oct response or not (ridiculously enough), get your REAL 6582 from smash and free help from the community and just try it! it's easier than one would think! btw i'm glad Wilba cleaned the whole 6582A stocks and spread them all over the world! imagine the potential of 5000 ASIds versus a planned 100 of them!
  12. just the chips! (too stupid to simply edit)
  13. for midibox members: 2x MOS 8580 R5 15€ each +shipping they've been pulled from C64 and stored on conductive foam since then. just tested them again in my SidV2. i'll post a sound demo later.
  14. ha, and let me guess, the "synth-lab" probably carries Ray Wilson's Sound-Lab?
  15. this is also a bit different to the usual 'someone selling their "sidbox" on ebay'. kinda ridiculous that a company go out and steal other people's design. well, good to know. never needed MAM cheap sounding "clones" edit: "Simmonizer"

    MBSID v3?

yeah i remember reading about the planned STM32 upgrade too, but some time ago. (that was the reason why i got me a second set of sids back in the mega sale times)

    MBSID v3?

oh, that's possible of course! STM32?

    MBSID v3?

i guess you're talking about the V3 revision of the SID module, which is part of the MBsid V2 project.
  19. awesome!
  21. would you like to post some short sound demo here? i'd love to hear how the sids and swinsid work together.
  22. i think it's strange that you read 9V between output of 7809 and the GND of the 5V rail when the two circuits are not even connected to each other, as there's no clear reference between both (which is achieved by making the bridge). just thinking out loud here, i haven't built this. edit: are you sure there's no other connection between the 2 parts? maybe a component at the wrong place?
  23. hehe they just look cheaper, cause i did the installation i got these from Mike's. just do a search in the forum for smash or mike, there's lot of info available. their prices are about the same i'd say. but there are some differences regarding the boards, silkscreen and the choice of connectors. also they partially stock different things, like for example SmashTV has some modules that Mike doesn't carry, also the female crimp connectors & crimping tool. mike otoh offers a small 8x bankstick board (in the pic upper left) but you can find all these info about the suppliers and projects/modules on the www.ucapps.de page, you'll have to read there anyways.
  24. hi! als analoge input potis nimmt man am besten 10K linear. http://ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_ainx4_64pots.pdf
