is anybody else observing this or is it just me and my computer? well the portal section doesn't work for me since we moved to the new server. usually i'd check the latest posts there, but the menu on the left side just doesn't appear again...

yes, it's Wilba's design, but i got it from smash TV (pcb, kit, STMcore kit). i wrote myself on Wilba's bulk order list in the wiki, some time ago. smash's working through that list and contacted me when it was my turn. -
absolutely! i'll take some of those multiturn trimmers that work great on the shruthis. i just soldered the stock guys in this time but already regret it. depending on how they're set the displays are changing brightness every second or so (could also be i've produced a bad solder joint). i've already found a spot that works but i guess using a good trimmer will be a big difference. yeah smash's board looks great. btw this is a great design. absolutely easy to solder, everything worked perfectly. if you have a close look you'll notice that i did not read the entire building docs: i've failed to break off those metal sticks on the encoders, dummy. so i'll probably put a little piece of heat shrink tube over the leds :D yup i'll make a video, at least i'll try hehe.

maybe we could also ask julianF? idk, maybe he's interested, as he's already producing the MB6582 and Seq panels... just an idea, as the milled plexi would be the most preferrable solution, no? from my impression the ones from twin-x were looking great. btw i also need two SeqV4 windows!

twin-X himself made them back then. they were 1.5mm + 1.5mm. i had other plans how i'd do it and gave them away, and just recently decided to go with the original design again. so i'd need some for the 6582 and SeqV4.

indeed. i guess they've been cut from one piece? (not glued?) they look as good as the ones Twin-X used to do once.

that's just a capacitor to clean the power rail, between Vcc (+5V at pin 25) and gnd, so no sound there. so the cap type is fine, i just can't recall atm if the pitch is right. the one you linked to is 5mm (RM5), too lazy to unpack my board right now to look

looks even better! @Hawkeye, the encoders are the ones from Pollin, they're really stable, even after removing the click. only drawback here's that you need to drill 14mm holes if i remember right, as the shaft isn't removable. nice work, mfk.

if you're going to build a midibox64 anyway and need just a really good keyboard, i'd recommend an ensoniq mirage, or a casio VZ-1. the mirage for example has weighted keys , they're all very sturdy and way better than any of the crap you can buy today, especially for the price. such keyboards usually always go for lower than 200€ on ebay. also a good keyboard i had was the ensoniq EPS. good sampler too, btw!

if you build the MB6582 yopu can get almost everything from smashTV. what you'll need apart from the board set and the base board kit is the encoders (also from smash), a bunch of 3mm LEDs (smash got them too), a 4x20 LCD and a pack of 6X6 mini tact switches (it's important to have the right height so check everything with Wilba's building instructions) also you need to decide which kind of power supply you like to build and stuff the base board accordingly. also if you do it all stock, you'll need a panel and a PT-10 case, you could get those from JulianF as far as i know. http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=wilba_mb_6582 Hawkeye wrote a complete CS walkthrough:

the resistors are only acting as voltage dividers. they are just all hooked to the same +V and GND. to have resistances all parallel it would be necessary to also join all wiper pins together, which is not the case. so there shouldn't be interaction between the pots if everything's installed correctly.

yeah littlediode always seem to have what i need, just for big bux usually a few months ago i requested a quotation for them from utsource. if i remember right they were $5 each. i doubt they carry them all the time but sometimes it's good to ask there.
