  1. My SammichFM is a LOT cooler than the SammichSID, indeed. Using same wallwart for both
  2. AAaargh, what is wrong with you people :D Computers are lovely!!
  3. Im pretty sure you listened to the audioclips from TK on the MBFM page @ ucapps? I feel like you; FM instruments are often ½lame modeling instruments, but the MBFM can be a really angry mofo. Listening to TK's clips makes me think VERY differently about the possibilities in this little bugger :)
  4. I just use a cheap firewire interface, 8 lovely channels with software mixer, 2 lovely preamps. It's in my rack, with a snake in the back so i can route however i want - a rack patchbay thingy would make things a bit easier though, but i very rarely re-cable anyways. Personally I would be very bothered having to go through a hardware mixer too + the fact that i can record 8 inputs to single tracks in my DAW in a jiff really amuses me - i couldn't do that with a mixer and a 2chn soundcard.
  5. finds mibbit a bit frustrating these days!

      I blame sma....oh wait. ;)

I took off my pants too while soldering 'that part'... It probably wasn't necessary, but to me it felt right  - Very nice synth - Very nice kit - Very nice video I wanna thank everyone involved for doing a hell of a job!!
  7. eeerhm..... ??!?!?! So body fat will make you happy? I looked around and found this Now, she does look happy yes, but i'm VERY sure that it's because of the bacon on her plate
  8. Congratulations on making my own crappy Ikea furniture look even more boring :D
  9. Someone is doing something on linux Maybe you could join forces
  10. You remembered the diode and the resistor?

this means that you have a short circuit on your mind?

  12. I'm not sure i understand correctly... If you want to play chords, you can use the Multi engine. I'm pretty sure you knew this already though, and i'm just misunderstanding your question. Maybe you can clarify a bit?
  13. Oh yes... very lovely stuff indeed!! A wiki page is in the works http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=hardsid.dll
  14. Hehe, i know that feeling all too well :) Wise words, brother!
  15. Definitely a clone :) but kinda funny how another danish Flemming is also a SIDaholic
  16. Lovely sound!!!
  17. Thanks m00dawg! I was sure i saw/heard something like that, but couldn't put my finger on the source :) The summed output of the mb6582 is the one that contains all of the audio outputs, the small jack connector. If you make sound with let's say 1 SID.. Isn't it's output stronger from the 'dedicated' output compared to the summed one?
  18. Dunno, i did ask Wilba once though ... if i could only remember what he told me :) I must start taking notes sometime soon Here is a few other designs, similar but one uses 4K7 resistors. I guess you could easily test out different resistor values to find one that suits you the best. The correct way would be to google some articles about passive mixers to see if there is a way to calculate the most correct resistor value. Actually pretty interesting, but i have to sleep now, so no more google for me today :) I really wish that you will share your knowledge with us here if you find out something cool??
  19. I'm not sure on this, but consider the MB6582; it has 8 mono outputs that is being mixed to one master output using a bunch of 10K resistors. I bet the same thing could be done in your case - use a 10K resistor each for R and L before they go to the mono output. The signal will be a bit attenuated ofcourse, but the resistors are important because of (insert fancypants electronics expressions here) :) a quick search on google gave me this Being pretty close to what i imagine you want to achieve - 2 channels summed into 1. Best thing is that it'll fit in a matchbox or the likes
  20. Hmm, i did forget to add one special story I have a C64 brick (the white 'striped' one) that outputs WAY more than 9VAC. But i was the cause :logik: i thought "let's try doing things a bit different", the brick made a loud 'bang' and then it was 'game over'... i'm not even sure that a new fuse would save it in any way :) i was pretty thorough about killing it, it seems. I also want to point out that just because fuses are easily replaceable i don't think that the PSU will rock in any special manner.. but it does give some safety... or at least, a sensation of it :D
  21. Hehe, lets try this one more time :) 3 types of PSUs Now, let's have a look at one of my beige oldskool bricks See..... no epoxy hell to dig through to replace a fuse! I have one more of these, but it has just 1 replaceable fuse. I did say 0, 1 or 2 fuses - i know that they all have fuses, but i was kinda talking about 'the outside' since the epoxy issue goes without saying Fact is, that i can only mention a few booboos where ppl fried their SIDs, though it's still sad i'd say that the C64 psu is a pretty good way to go. Atleast for me, since i am lucky enough to have a PSU that has no problems having it's fuses replaced... you could get one too :) Hehe, so i will get better too, you mean? I am not saying that your way is not good in any way at all - i'm just saying that it is a bit harsh to proclaim 'every C64 brick to quite frankly be a piece of shit!' since there are many variations of them. It's like saying 'cars are bad' because you once drove a crappy one.
  22. Well frank  i'm not saying you're wrong, but hundreds maybe thousands of people use the C64 brick to power their mbsid. I know there has been a few stories about dudes having their SIDs toasted, but still i think it's a pretty good statistics in the favor of the brick :D Also keep in mind that there are many revisions of the brick, and some might be better than others.. i can think of 3 different models just on top of my head, and i can say for sure that the brown old model has atleast 3 revisions; one with no fuses, one with 1 fuse and one with 2 fuses. Also iirc some bricks were made in Germany while some were made in asia, which also may have something to do with the build quality, dunno for sure... So, an old brick with no fuses might be a bad choice, and maybe other bricks can be too. But they are not all bad, atleast to my eyes
  23. Hi demochx :) welcome to midibox world! I'm pretty sure that is not gonna happen. The midibox64 app is big, and so is the seq app - if you programmed your own firmware you could sure have some midibox64 and some seq features mixed, but maybe 2 cores (1 for midibox64 and 1 for mbseq) would be a better solution.. or even 2 separate boxes I think i heard something like that too at some point, but i'm not sure at all. I can say for sure that midibox64e can use encoders though Midibox supports a handfull of different types of LCDs, but i guess that the HD47780 is so popular because it is a wellknown standard, goes well into the box, easy to work with, and ofcourse cheap :) Not the very best answers :) i'm sorry, but i hope someone with more midibox64(e) experience can answer more precise.
  24. That one is considered the best solution for power with as little noise as possible. Yes, remove the 7805 from the core, and use a short between pin1 and pin3 instead. just like in the drawing (read nr.3 in the list too)
