  1. Hi TK. Nice job. What I'm planning to build is a 32ch daw controller, with this new core does it still mean I need multiple cores or will it be possible to realize with one? Asking just for the sake of simplicity, a few more cores will still be one of the cheaper modules of such a controller, but it less hardware means less trouble if something needs fixing hehe.
  2. Hi TK. Mine arrived yesterday all well and nothing broken. Nice piece. Can this be used as core for midibox lc? Or whatever replacing lc... Remember I read something a while ago about midibox ng or something. It's gonna be exciting to see what u firmware guys come up with. I'm not very skilled in programming, and its awesome how complicated stuff u manage to put into those MCUs. If I wrote the code I'm sure I could manage to use up 10 times the memory for the same shit hehe.

  4. Mmm covers. Nice idea flemming. It's presenning here too. Is the cover durable? I might try the same stuff with a bit thicker plastic cover just to make you look bad muhahahaha. Nah, u know I'm full of shit. Nice work and good tip flemming.
  5. I'm not using epoxy, as it is more expensive (at least around here) than polyester. So I'm using fiberglass armed polyester as building material. For keeping the mold free from the case itself I use a "release" fluid that is made for it (almost like clear coat) but mostly I just clearcoat with automotive paint and wax it with vaseline inside the mold and go from there :)
  6. The plastic is a lie. There is no plastic, there is only fiberglass! Nah.. Gonna make a model in wood, then make a mold with fiberglass, and then I'm gonna make the actual case from the mold also in fiberglass. Pure handwork, painfully timeconsuming :D EDIT: Oh, I'm making a two part mold. One on top and one on the bottom. Should work.
  7. Just started to train myself in pcb routing :). Had to get started with a simple circuit, so I made a layout for 8 banksticks on a very compact board. No bigger than the space that the ICs themself takes up. Next up is the mixer circuit for my stereoSID. Wish me luck.

Oh, your bankstick project gave me the idea! It was just a training project for me. Never really intended for release. Your bankstick looks awesome!

  8. Mmmmmmmmmmmm! I'm glad I waited with the mbLC build. This is gonna be fun :D Good work TK, well appreciated!

The back panel is a little bit inside from the back of the box. To save space in studio and save cables and connectors on gigs. They will be as far into the box so only the cable is poking out from the back if you look down on the back. The plug itself will be hidden / protected under there.

In the front the two green areas under there represents ventilation openings. Either they are gonna be cut out in strip shaped holes or I'm gonna put in some fine mesh stuff in the holes as they show on the drawing.<br /><br />The area above the vents is gonna house the headphones jack and a volume control for that.

Picture shows a concept drawing. It is pretty much the way it will look like when I'm done. Only thing is buttons and knobs will probably be a bit different. I might use transperant waldorf knobs for the pots / encoder. buttons will probably be tact.switches as seen on MB6582.<br /><br />Case is gonna be painted in matte black color, and in addition some areas with thick black latex coating (as seen on cell phone silicone protectors for example).<br /><br />8 bank sticks is inside the case.<br /><br />Some sideglow fibercable is also finding it's way in there somewhere. Just have to figure out where :).

  13. Hehe yeah! Ebony isn't gonna accept normal methods of working with wood :P - its like working with stone :)
  14. Soldering LEDs on boards. Pink and blue uplight for my palm tree :D

Bizarro indeed. But does it run Crysis maxed out?

  15. OK, I will leave this sale "open" for a couple of days - if nobody wants them I will withdraw them from the fleamarket ;)
  16. **** SOLD **** Hello, After offering some of my red waldorf knobs to Flemming, we agreed that it was better if someone else could have them. I have *15* Red / Black waldorf knobs I'm not gonna use in near future, so if any of you missed the last bulk order and want to build, say a MB6582, those 15 are all the knobs you need. I'm keeping 15 myself for my own mb6582, but the other 15 need to go to someone who can care for them and put them to good use, as there will be some time till I need them myself. Too bad to just let them dust down in the box. The following criteria will be demanded of the buyer: 1. You have to have at least 1 year of experience / activity in this forum 2. You have to be 18 or older 3. You will need to provide evidence for completed waldorf usage course 4. You will have to send me a picture of yourself posing with the knobs when you get them 5. You will have to provide evidence that you like Waldorf Salad. Naaah! I'm just kidding :D If you want the 15 knobs (I would prefer to sell them together) Gimme a PM and I'll try to answer you as quickly as I can. Also post an answer to this post that you want them, so that I know who got to me first ;). The price will be € 1.30 each, that is about the price I paid for them incl. shipping costs - no I haven't done the exact calculations, but I believe it's a fair price :). That is a total of: €19.50 + shipping / handling of your choice. Payment is done via Paypal only. If nobody want the whole set, I will keep them myself. I'm selling them for the better of this community - no need for me to keep the stuff some of you can put to good use just because I want them myself once in the future ;) TBreath
  17. Hi mike, and welcome aboard :) While I haven't any real hands on experience building such controller u suggest (im more into the synth stuff), I could give u an advice or two :). Look at youtube - lots of videos featuring controllers and synths using midibox platform, and u can see them perform, and u might get ideas for your own design and how to do it. Also the wikipages are full of info, also ucapps.de has lots of info, but I gather u already went there ;). What I can say, is that midibox platform with MIOS is extremely flexible, and you could do almost anything u can think of with it if you can code some, or get help doing so. There are also huge amounts of people more than willing to help out here. Always nice to have new additions to the community ;). Stop by the chat, and questions can be answered real time ;). There are almost always a few people with great knowledge in there at all times :). See ya.
  18. Hi. Encoders for the cs board u can get from smash. Also the leds if round lenses are ok with you. You only need some small signal diodes and also some right sized tactile switches. But all info about that you can find on the wiki pages. Also u need a lcd. U can find suitable ones on ebay for like almost free from Asia or something... Just make sure dimensions fit the cs board and that it is the right standard interface. Hitachi something something, can't remember on the fly... Good luck with projects and study hehe. Im so glad I'm finished studying many years ago. Not to demotivate u in any way hehe, but I am so glad I am never gonna touch a school desk once more in my life hehe. That is how good I liked school hehe... Off topic, but I'm sure forgiveness is around the corner from the admins... See ya.
  19. Hi, welcome aboard! :) There just was a bulk order a few months back on the waldorf knobs, but you could always check around to see if anyone is interested in starting a new one ;) I know there were a few people, not remembering who they were - but check the 2011 bulk order thread, that missed out on that bulk order, so there might be potential for doing another one. And there were some who ordered a lot of them too, so you might have luck with the fleamarket too ;). I ordered in 50 knobs in that bulk order, but I am not sure how many of them I need quite yet, so I am not quite ready to part with any of them yet... sorry. But good luck with the MB6582. I'm building one myself right now, it is an amazing instrument!! For parts, if you don't already know, SmashTV (www.avishowtech.com) has kits for sale ;) - and also other nice parts for midibox platform for an extremely fair price. Worth a visit - I can personally recommend dealing with him. Also, the chat is a nice place to be ;) welcome. TBreath
  20. I also work a lot, have a newborn, wife and family that takes time. Also the time I started midiboxing I had a lot of gigs and practice with the band 10h a week. Still, I wanted to have a midibox sid. I took a trip to the forum and it had taken me half a day of wait to know what I needed to build what I wanted... I ordered in about half of what I needed from smashtv and I solder when I had the time. I'm not finished yet, and I do it in a slow pace when I for time for it. Though it is not for free it is still pretty cheap, and that was what dragged me the most towards this - the freedom to do it whenever I have time, money and in my own pace. It is way possible to build a sid without learning the details. Not all have time for all the details, but mb platform is for almost everyone. And the soldering stuff, it is really not hard at all. There is a few tricks need to knows, but there are plenty of vids on utube that show how it is done and how it should look like. And then you have the sammichsid... It is so easy to build, and its the closest to a complete solution u get for now. I believe if u are a musician and know how to wire ur instruments, you will probably be able to do this too without very much effort. As for sids, from time to time they are sold in the midibox fleamarket, and also on ebay. Not very hard to get, you just need to do a search now and then. It has taken me approx. 10th searches to get my sids. Some bought on fleamarket and some on ebay. You only need one or two, but you can use up to 8 in the 6582. I now have 8 of them, and that took me about 6 months. And that also in a country it is nearly impossible to dig up commodores. Everything, I believe, can be done, but in right time and with the priorities right. If u want to do something, u go ahead and make time for it. There are very few people in the world with that little time. Many of us in here are active musicians, and have time. Don't mean to flame you in any way here, just suggesting and encourageing you to get going. You will meet people here more than willing to help out in any way they can, and it is no talk of they don't want to be bothered wit it, help needed, help u will get. This community is composed by a lot of different people with lots of different skills. And are very welcoming to newbies. So if you really want a midibox sid, here is the absolutely best place to be. Some sell their midiboxes in the fleamarket, and it just cost time to check now and then if you really think u cannot build one yourself, wich I believe is a very real possibility that you can do... Good luck, stick around and see what happens here and what u can do and you might find urself doing less gigs and building midiboxes instead. Haz a nice day.
  21. Im soon finished with my mb6582, so i use core8s now, but when firmware is ready, I will have a core ready for it ;-). I'm no prototyper, that's you ;-)
  22. Nice. I have yet to decide what to use it for, but I'm in :D Maybe for the SID... :)
