  1. Ask nice! :) hehehehe
  2. What do u mean by that? :). Does the trønder know why the tubes are laid out this way at all? hehe.
  3. Finally had some time to sit down figure out the cable configuration for J10 / J14 on stereo SID setup. Also made the connectors for audio outs on the sid modules. There's gonna be some weeks before I get the custom case going, as I am building my future studio at the moment - that has to be done now, as the window for using money on that, and real help came along. I'm really looking forward to getting started on the case for this. A concept drawing of it is uploaded in my gallery some time ago if you missed it and want to see it. See below for the photoshoot of the modules :P
  4. Thought I'd try setting up this blog. Get stuff gathered in one place. Until now I have been "blogging" in the gallery. Anyway... I have never ever tought of doing a blog before, so I guess it's gonna be funny to see what comes up here - probably the usual shit :).
  5. Sorry guys for flooding the gallery with my studio contstruction pictures. Some of the guys at IRC wanted to see the pictures so bad :P.

Unfortunately that's more or less the entire living room/bedroom area so it's not all cave :( The synth gear sits in a corner.

hawk, u're doin it wrong man. Me and my wife has moved 2 times now, and the first room that get set up is the music room. Now I just gotta watch out and not get another kid while we live here in our current house, then - even I - have to be reasonable and give up the cave for kids room... so by the time we get another kid we will hopefully be moving into the house with my new cave. :)

btw, today all the wool is in place, and also the wall panels. Missing the ceiling and floor now.

    LCD windows

Oh I just love this. The white, matte, almost a little transparant material - it's just... mmmmmmmmmmmm
  7. Bag on the window is there because it's broken. And why state this obvious fact? My grandma who lives in the house for the time being forgot to bring her keys and locked herself out. When she got home, she knew I was about to replace that window anyway, so what did she do? Crushed it, removed all glass from the frame (till she bled) and crawled in :D haha. it's about 30x35cm hole.

temporary seperating wall, due to come down when I move into the house.
  12. Testing the SSD disk... Win7 install, about 5-6 minutes from DVD, windows startup - 9 secs, photoshop CS5 startup 1.4 sec, installing Cubase 5 less than 10 seconds. OH I AM HAPPY!

My computers complain when I mix up the Lion stick and the Win7 stick. Fascinating luxury problem :)

Rocking on SSD on my Mac (Crucial M4) and, yes indeed, it's amazing.

  13. has got new stuff. It's SSD time :D

  14. Oh I need this material for my mb6582 front panel :) Looks nice!
  15. Yes indeed antix. I have done several similar stuff on lights on the car in my previous street career, with varying results.
  16. Yo. I dont know the background for this topic, but if u have a smart phone, there is excelent apps for calculating this stuff. I use ElectroDroide, it is indeed the best tool for electronics I have ever had. If ribbon cable is too noisy, have one ever considered using an utp cable instead?
  17. I'm drawing up some schems for this IC based solution now. This IC seems very promising the more I look into it. However, I have certain issues trying to wrap my head around how it really works. I'm soon there though ;). This chip, however is particulary interesting since it can do voltage window comparing. The undervoltage condition detection is a really interesing bonus. I'll try and come up with a design that trigger the SCR at precise over voltage conditions, and also a autoshutdown of all rails at under-voltage condition. I have done an experimental PSU schem some months ago to learn about how to achieve these functions using basic components. The huge drawback to this was that the design had much more discrete components, and many comparator ICs. It also provided seperate vref from a seperate ciruit. This IC seems to have all of this built in, and I only need 3 resistors for each of the ICs to set the window for it to operate in normal state. This IC also makes it easier to incorporate these status LEDs jojjelito asks for, though I'm not sure how interesting such leds really would be. A single LED that is green when all rails are operational and that is red if a fuse is gone would probably be enough for me. Those 5x20mm glass fuses is easy enough to visually confirm broken or not. I try to keep the design as simple as possible... In the final design I will pobably use panel mount fuse holders, to make it way easier to change them if they blow. Any ideas to this IC based design is very welcome.
  18. Clone of your crowbar ;) Though on my quest for perfection I found a IC to more acuratly control tripping of the crowbar. I'm sure it's all hysteria and lots of over-perfection talking, but I read all over the net that this basic circuit is kinda hard to control at very low voltages... But I'm sure it works fine :) hehe. But just for the fun of it I'm exploring IC based design for this as we speak... lets see how it turns out.... datasheet for the IC: http://www.onsemi.com/pub_link/Collateral/MC34161-D.PDF
  19. /me haven't studied the different options for supplying mb6582, as it was very clear for me before I started the build that I was going for opt.D. I haven't enough knowledge either to say yes/no to combining switching and linear - since I have no idea how seperate those systems actually are in the synth itself. I would somehow assume without watching datasheets for the SIDs since a long time now - that the rails have the same ground potential / shared ground? This is just speculations, nothing more, but maybe someone can clarify... Wouldn't a noisy switcher impose noise to the other rails?
