  3. Mkay, it's now time for an update :). Three weeks ago I had to make some serious decisions. I had to stop eating any kind of snacks as I used to do before. I wasn't loosing weight - especially since I quit smoking - makes it even hard to loose weight for a period after quitting. After getting the wife really seriously in on my plan, it has worked pretty well. That was then. It still works ok, and it only gets better and better (I find it easier and easier to avoid snacks) So I stepped on the scale two weeks ago, and had a look. Still the same 121.5 kg. I recon it takes a while to show. The last two weeks people has started noticing that I lost weight. So today (at the personal trainer's office) I stepped on the scale again, and this time I was confident that I had lost weight. I know because my pants I use at work (this one: http://www.aeo.no/sites/default/files/produkt/images/394576.jpg) has started to just fall down if I open the belts ;) and I knew it didn't do that when I got it a while back. So I was confident. Personal trainer told me to not be surprised if I lost muscle mass during this period, because it was very normal. I have been doing lot of muscle workout, also running and rowing, but mainly muscle torture ;), So the readings today showed 118.5 kg - that is -3kg in a week. And the cool thing is that I had also gained .5 kg muscle mass :). Pretty sensational to be me. I'm now well below 120kg, which is the first time in a couple of years iirc. So in short: I have quit all snacks unless it's a very important occation for me (like my own birthday - I'm not gonna say no to a piece of cake) :). I have quit smoking, and at the same time lost fat and gained muscle mas. I'm happy today :). The road ahead just got a bit easier. I have three main goals - have had them since I started this thing. 1. I will get better health in general 2. I will be able to keep my head high in positions where I earlier would've hidden away because my fat ;) 3. I will be able to purchase clothes without exploding in frustration that nothing really fits :). So today I really saw that my efforts the last weeks have shown result, and that makes it very much easier to carry on :). Stay tuned ;) EDIT: No idea why the posting was doubled up... ;) deleted.
  4. Yep, I started my paypal account back when I started to deal a lot on ebay. It is by far the best and easiest way I have used to handle money transfers. And the little fee paypal claims is really nothing to talk about. If one cant afford to pay whatever is included - shipping / handling fees I would say the best thing is to mow another lawn and you're there ;). Bank transfers may be common in eu, but is a hassle to do from outside, but it's probably harder to see the problems with this from within. So my proposal to all of you who doesn't use paypal - get an account :) and make it easier for everyone :P. But of course, that's just my opinion. But since the question was there, I thought I'd say what I think :).

Yep. I got that one for free many years ago, wasnt working too good, I took it apart cleaned it and put it together again, and its been running ever since. but the psu makes an annoying very hi freq sound now, so I might have to reopen it some day to see if I can get rid of it.

Hehe. Yeah. I have both ready for action ;). The nylon stringed guitar behind, was a freebie. Its in fairly good shape, but not more quality than u expect from a "school" guitar. Something for Sam to play when he get a bit older ;). The 12-stringer was actually pretty expensive back when I bought it. It has no electronics - I bought this because I fell in love with its sound - excelent sustain and reverbish sound. The electric one is an old washburn thats not really mine, but I have a deal with the owner to keep it as long as I want :P - so I treat it as my own then ;). At the moment Im "window" shopping for a steinberger. I have wanted to have a headless guitar ever since the first time I saw Bill n Ted movies :D. I think I will buy one of those within this year ;).

Hehehe. Thats why its on the wall :D - I usually use sample bass in my projects - this guitar is simply a bit too heavy to play :P

Yeah, setting up the gear all over again is the "fun" part :P. Hehe. I have done a stupid thing though :) I have to relocate the amplifier. It is suspended by belts underneath the table - right under the mouse. That worked great with wired key/mouse, but not now :). Mouse works best on the outer corners of the desk now :P. And the keyboard needs to be in the lap if I want to do some serious writing on it :P.

  15. has been building studio furniture to go with the new interface. Added a 4 i/o midi interface, a gigabit poe switch. After two week of waiting for the TI chipset firewire controller, finally I find myself searching for xlr cables to hook up everything. Before two would be enough :P.

  17. All parts for my 8 stereo channels line mixer arrived / on it's way! All except the att.pots at the input... I find those rather hard to find. Anyone know of relative cheap dual gang 10k log pots?

  18. Oh nice! I have to get up in the morning because I feel like getting up, and WAIT for the kid to wake up. That happens like NEVER! Usually he wakes up around 06:00 :D, and now it's one hour later... Either he is sick, or he is just trying to be nice :P

its called Murphy´s Law (which in fact again only emphasizes the concept, that you note the things that have gone wrong more than the things have gone right, e.g. that your kid did not wake up at 3.00 am screaming "daddy, i cannot sleep, can you?" :)

      jojjelito

Mmm, I still hadn't gone to bed at 03:00 this morning. So, I'm Murphy resistant. Us undead ppl never sleep.

Hehe, cables work ok. What really amazes me is the elixir strings. At first I was unsure what to think about em, but after playing a couple of minutes, my conclusion is that these are very much worth the extra money. It made playing smoother and not that much strength was needed when transit between chords, it felt more like an elguitar with light strings and extremely low action, and it was way easier to play em. I dont know how else to describe it. If you ever wondered about getting elixir strings for ur guitar, u can just go buy them, dont ask if its good enough, it is :).

Dude! Edit: The TI card was due to come to the shops may 31st. but they later changed that to june 8th. I have contacted them, and I know they are on their way now :)
  25. 9 years after buying my M-audio midi keyboard, I read the manual :D, and discovered that I could transpose the notes directly on that controller. Man, would've saved me a lot of mouse clicks @ gigs if I knew before. Lesson: 1: Read manual. 2: Read manual again. 3: Read manual and make sure you have understood the manual. 4: Have fun.
