  1. OK, I misunderstood, sorry 'bout that. I assumed ALBS would be sending the indivudual packages to us directly. Maybe that's not a bad idea after all, have you asked ALBS if they're willing to do that? Might save some or even a lot of shipping, after all you're located on an Island ;) ;D If that's not possible you should ofcourse have them shipped to you insured. From there on I'd like mine to ship to me acap (as cheap as possible) ;) Cheers, Alex.
  2. Sorry, but in no way I'm going to accept 15 euro shipping from a neighboring country. 16 buttons fit easily in a standard padded anvelope, which could be sent for only a few euro's. I'm willing to accept the risks of uninsured sending for this one. Cheers, Alex.
  3. TK made a detented_3 mode especially for the bourns encoders, you can find details in the SID forum somewhere.
  4. You have me listed for 15, which I originally asked, but since there qare no transparent reds available I'wrote I'd like 16 of the opaque reds, that's one more ;)
  5. Hi Nebula, assuming full responsibility for 18 dollars worth of goods is no problem at all. The shipping with proof of delivery might be though, that sounds frakkin' expensive... do you have any indication how much that would be? (I ask this in the thread instead of via PM/email because there might be more fellow europeans interested in the total cost to own these babies). Thanks, Alex.
  6. ...what if I don't care it's non ROHS and I want 4 of them? ROHS is only required for commercial stuff, hobbyists may still use all the lead they want AFAIK. Cheers, Alex.
  7. If the transparent red's are not available I'll go for 16 opaque reds.
  8. I would like the transparent RED ones please, as stated in my PM ;) Thanks!
  9. unit-sound: please respond to my PM's - I'd really like to know where we stand right now...
  10. 12vac transformers deliver more than enough to drive 7812's, because the voltage gets multiplied by 1,4 when rectified. I made a +12 / -12 regulated PSU for midibox, just look it up in my WIKI, any and all comments are welcome (in the thread linked in the wiki article please, let's keep the topics clean :) ).
  11. AFAIK you need a center tapped 24v supply to get +12v GND and -12v. Or a 2x12v and join 2 wires to create a center tap. Sounds like you're running of a -6 +6 PSU, don't know if that's even possible, but can't be a good thing.
  12. Actually, I've left out the D0-D3 wires of my LCD cable entirely and grounded pins D0-D3 on my LCD, that works fine. That way it was easier for me to wire up a CAN bus on my older PCB's. Of course I had already confirmed the LCD is working fine in 4-bit mode, else such a cable would not be the smartest thing to construct.
  13. How about the Calibri font? It's the new standard MS font in office 2007 afaik, don't know hoe it will render though...
  14. I need another 40 of those, I will order 50 if needed, preferrably for a price lower than 0,40...
  15. I finally took some time to test the PSU today. The AC ripple is 0.0mV on the 12v lines, and 0,1mV on the 9v and 5v lines, tested with an ABB M2005 multimeter. I think that's pretty good. I have no reference on how a C64 brick with optimized circuit performs and do not have a functioning specimen lying around, so if someone would be so kind to take some readings, that would be nice for comparing. Cheers, Alex. [edit] Put most info in my user WIKI: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/northernlightx IF this is found to be of use as a general MidiBox PSU it'll find it's way to the proper WIKI section(s).
  16. Beautiful stuff, but I want to make 303ish sounds with my SID, and am building a SEQ for the sequencing part. There are also some other projects I want to finish, so I can't take the extra work, sorry.
  17. hey Smash, have you looked at my homebrew PSU? (http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=6374.0) I believe it can be adapted for use as an external PSU, maybe relay the tracks a bit to have all the currents available on a single SIL header and so, but not very much work I think? Anyway, you and Wilba have my explicit permission to use the design and adapt it where neccessary to create a C64 PSU brick replacement. I have 1 spare PCB left, which I can send to either of you for testing if interested. Cheers, Alex.
  18. Somewhat unclear photo's, but it is finished at last ;D Sound is very fat and tweakable. I will try to record some more demo's shortly. Lazertran was a disaster. Only a very faint layer stayed on the metal, most likely because I brushed the aluminium. Next time I'll polish it instead of brushing, flat surfaces work better with lazertran I read. Anyway, I hand-painted over the faint lazertran decal and I like how it came out. Final schematic and documentation will be updated soon. The capacitor we removed does have a function after all: if you use assymetric clipping this cap protects the second opamp from DC. This will of course be documented, and finally be put into a WIKI page. Cheers for now!
  19. I'd still like to get some of those, earlier you said some guys in Europe got some from a group buy or something but I haven't been able to source them :-[ So, anybody who has 16 of those 1% 22nF caps spare (more are welcome, 20 for example) and would like to part with them (I'll gladly pay for them and expenses): please contact me! :-* sorry to hijack the thread, hope you'll forgive me ;)
  20. Hey, those guys are in Holland :) I'll ask them about those bi-colour LED's, great stuff for my once-to-be SEQ.
  21. As soon as there are 2x80 displays on offer I'm game ;)
  22. Could you please provide some extra info? Like: - Colour - Brightness (in MCD) - used current Thanks ;)
