  1. Meaning: The tags you chose are so ambiguous that they don't really help at all. Hence, stryd_one used the [ x ]-Button and removed them to keep the SNR (signal-to-noise-ratio) as high as possible :-)

    Whee! Nice find!

Yeah, I'm just waiting for someone to suggest midiboxWeed :-\
  4. Sweet - that is way faster than with a saw and a file, too ;D

    Shit happens

Being the lucky bastard I am, I didn't really lose anything. Well except for a good nights sleep in my own bed. A minor shock and some hours of adrenaline overdose don't really count as a loss.

    Shit happens

Yep. I playing trace tetris in boxer shorts ;)
  7. To test the chips I would highly recommend a custom song :-) Or not a song at all but a keyboard to play some notes and a full CS to quickly check all the features.

    Shit happens

I'm not that 25 year old, and yes it did say that (although the article didn't connect the growing weed and the explosion). I'm fine, as I was lucky as hell. My car wasn't quite as lucky. It got hit by a window falling down from the 4th floor. Just sucks to run out of a building in your boxers and not be able to get back in to get such helpful things as, say, pants or money :-/
  9. That's what he is talking about.

Ouch. That thing is biiiiig...You can put a lot of BAZE! in it, too ;D
  13. Proudly presented to you by Mr. Rosy Pony-Tail ;D
  14. Maaan, I really thought you found a way to turn a .brd into a .sch there for a second :-(
  15. Okay, I just check prices again and they dropped a lot. A 16x2 in black with white text (yummy!) costs ~12€ at Reichelt which really isn't bad at all. I think wat also put me off back when I first found them was the lack of bigger ones as I'm a sucker for 40x2s.
  16. Not really a problem, you can just solder the resistors directly to the LEDs, so you don't have to change anything on the Core itself.
  17. Yes, you want the resistors.

    LCD Use

16 characters = 4 items. 20 characters = 5 items. Your choice. You should use 5 items though, more items == better. I'm just really curious how you wanna display 7 items on a 2x20 ??? And, yes, the default is 2x20 (5 items)
  19. Yes, it does. Well at leadt most of the time. Doesn't work well for audio, works really nice on blank pictures :-)
  20. I guess that depends on what you wanna use J5 for.
  21. Well, a Diesel engine is a car engine and still you can't fill it up with regular gas. I don't know if that controller is compatible with the drivers supplied with MIOS. Why don't you just try it out? You can definitely use that LCD, but you might not want to if it requires writing a custom driver.
  22. Have you soldered the buttons and encoders to the default SR pins?
  23. I've used blue LEDs on one of my SIDs, just so I have a streamlined-modern looking one, too ;) Blue LEDs *are* annoyingly bright, but when used with 10k resistors they actually reach a level of brightness that's okay for an indicator.
  24. It's using an SPLC780D controller, which I know nothing about :-) If some lcd guru wants to take a look, here's the datasheet of the controller: http://www.crystalfontz.com/controllers/Sunplus_SPLC780D_Controller.pdf
  25. What stryd_one is trying to say here is: Zip the file using an application of your choice (which really should be http://www.7-zip.org/)
