  1. It shouldn't matter how you ground things, as long as there's only ONE ground and that's going everywhere you need it. Are you using the bipolar option? What PSU are you using? An shorts/bridges on the AOUT_NG? Got some high-res pics?

    [B] SID

Woot? Made by DOS? With a really weird date code? "Just promise me you'll be careful..." Make damn sure you have a way of getting your money back. Most of what I read on other forums recently points towards most "SID"s being around in larger quantities being either remarked (not necessarily an issue) or just random chips that happen to have the same pin count ;)
  3. Yay :) If you have more detailed questions feel free to post or even better drop by in the chat for real-time support ;)
  4. Basically what you are saying translates to this: "Hi! I would like to do something very simple the hardest way possible. Just because I want to. Then I noticed it's actually pretty hard. Can someone pretty much solve the problem for me and hand it to me... cause I really wanna do it the hard way for no apparent reason." I don't mean to sound rude, but seeing how you have no clue where to start of - if you do not have a really good reason for doing it in assembler, don't. If you really need to do it in assembler, do it in C first. Easier on the eyes and the structure of a MIOS app is the same either way. Then when you actually know how stuff is going to work, redo it in asm. Anyways, here's what you need: - .\mios_base_v1_1\apps\templates\asm_skeleton\ - http://ucapps.de/mios8_fun.html
  5. Hey, I was just poking :poke: For a PCB that size it's really not worth having it fabbed... I'd just go with veroboard if it's the only board you need atm.
  6. If you made a proper board layout and had it fabbed, you would get away with 0 cuts and 0 bridges :D
  7. Looks good to me :)

You seem to not be aware that the sequencer is not a sampler. It's a MIDI sequencer. It does not have an audio in. Hence there is no "route the audio and midi from sid to sequencer" or "sample the sid into the sequencer". Yes. With a lot more effort, yes. Yes. Not trying to be a downer, but it would certainly help if you were to refine your understanding of what the individual midiboxes do first.
  9. It doesn't say you have to pay yet anywhere, because you don't have to pay yet.

Welcome aboard Phill :flowers: What you are planning is to basically put two individual midiboxes into a single physical box. No voodoo involved there. Look at MIDIbox SID and MIDIbox SEQ @ ucapps.de for more information.
  11. As for the 5V regulator I'd suggest a 7805K in TO-3.
  12. This has been discussed before. No we cannot. While I do agree that captchas are excessively annoying, they're necessary. We have a huge wave of spam bots trying to kick all available doors in at the moment so *removing* a captcha is certainly not an option.
  13. Is that issue solved now? Whassup pulsewidth? Loooooong time no see! :frantics:
  14. "...also has his miracle..."
  15. Yep :)
  16. If I recall correctly someone compiled it for Linux as well. You might wanna dig around the forum a bit.
  17. Are you testing the different chips in the same socket on the mb6582 base board? Where did you get the PICs? Are you positive they're the right kind and there's the right software on them?
  18. Welcome aboard Scott.EFC :flowers: What's usually very helpful is for you to draw up a sketch of what you want - that way we know, what you've got in mind.
  19. Seeing how you're basically Wilba's neighbor, I'd suggest contacting him ;)
  20. You need to edit the first post, using the "full editor" button.
  21. So far that sounds correct - the bootloader keeps sending an upload request every 2 seconds. It's going to keep doing that until you upload MIOS. After that you want to upload the sammichSID hex file.
  22. And then there's always http://www.st.com/ and abunch of datasheets :)

  24. Unless of course it's a sampled grand piano and the software takes care of it ;)
  25. Scaling down is easy - you just leave everything out that you don't want :)
