  1. [x] Patience is a virtue. [ ] I blame the opto. [ ] Check the wiring.
  2. I just had a nice little chat with them (very helpful people there) and the problem with 19" is the printing, not the milling. The printer has a max. width of 460mm and that's why all their other tools are set up to take max. 460mm. According to panel pool they're discussing changing this in the future (the way I understood it only the milling, not the printing).
  3. +1 on what seppo said, and Welcome Aboard! :flowers:
  4. That *is* a bargain...

    That's actually a photo ;-)
  7. Remind me in the chat and I'll send you the file. There's pics on the panel pool page and the printing looks really nice :)
  8. I just cloned the mb6582 front panel with the following results: PANEL POOL: Exact same panel, but with custom printed graphics (you can go all out here with full color etc) -> 95eur SCHAEFFER: Exact same panel, engraved hence no fancy graphics -> 115eur
  9. The test panel I made (19", well kinda, limited to 460mm width), 2U with 19 knobs, 9 switches, 4 leds and an audio socket, all labelled with some neato graphics(!) on 3mm black anodized aluminium was supposed to run ~60EUR (same thing from Schaeffer with less graphics is 88EUR).
  10. Actually PMPO is the "Product designer's rating for Maximum Possible Output volume while exploding" FWIW, a decent soldering iron/station is certainly nice, and I agree with seppo and Wilba on this: If you have a lot of money at your disposal get a really nice one, if you don't and don't solder on a daily basis, the 30-50 eur range prolly makes more sense for you.
  11. No no no, it's a Commodore, can't you read? :frantics: * nILS giggles
  12. Smart-ass fail. Commodore made PSUs for Amigas, so what? It's still a PSU for an Amiga.
  13. Max. width 460mm. They gotta be kidding. Especially seeing how they have all sorts of 19" "prerequisites" like mounting holes and so on... I still thought I might as well play around with it a bit. For some reason the display is warped. All holes etc are displayed as ellipses, which is rather odd. Oh well, since they can't do 19" I guess I won't have to bother anyways :) What seems really neat is the printing feature, which seems to be a fixed price of ~15EUR on sth fairly close to a 2U 19" panel. That's certainly a strong selling point :frantics:
  14. Caps: The bypass caps are missing in the layout and need to be soldered to the underside (between the supply pin of each IC and ground, ie between pin 16 and the nearest ground pin which is pin 15). See the note in the pdf "The bypass caps C1..C4 are placed on the bottom side of the PCB" Pullups: You do need the pullup resistors. I am not sure what you mean by "they are not equipped". They're mounted vertically next to the 5-pin headers (where it says 10k).
  15. I think RTFM would be an acceptable answer ;)

What exactly have you changed and how did it not succeed?

All the questions you have asked have been answered. At least you'd need to tell us what exactly your problem is after following the advice you've been given.
  18. This is going hella of topic... Sending the chip to russia would be ~1,50eur.
  19. Pft. This is just wrong :) The gm5 is an awesome midi interface. TK sells them for 4,50eur iirc, that is cheap.
  20. The highest part of core8/32 are the electrolytic caps (mount them horizontally if all else fails) and the vregs (can be bent vertically as well).
  21. Those profiles come in 42mm and 56mm (most common), even with 42mm an LCD is not really an issue when it comes to height.
  22. No. Smash works with customized files (optimized for matching headers, being fabbed, ...) while the layouts on ucapps.de are single-sided for the DIY etchers.
  23. Most people have replied and paid. PCBs will be ordered this week.
  24. Happy B-Day, seppoman! :sorcerer:
