  6. hello i dont know if this will help but you can get this stuff called mylar silver one side gold the other flexible like plastic it was designed to shield satellites in space i know it shields from radio frequencies and radiation not shure about magantism but maybe as its just another em wave its available very cheaply from hydroponic grow shops as growers use it to line grow rooms reflects light into room shields from infra red detection if you get it the right way round also good way to protect computers from em pulse so if you wrapped your laptop in it it would still work after anuclear blast as long as it not a direct hit anyway hope this helps kris
  7. i get really confused with all the different distros when i said id like to find a version of linux like mac os i didnt explain myself properly the thing i really like about mac is the way i can arrange files visually in folders rather than just in rows and colums like windows being dsylexic this makes my whole creative process more efficient and more rewarding because i can arrange my samples etc in nice patterns and remember whats where visually rather than having to remember exact file names and search for them wow that was long winded but id like to find a distro of linux thats like that has anybody had experience of this daw for linux ARDOUR it looks very interesting kris
  8. wow its looking amazing shure wish i could read more german though
  9. youll probably need more than 1 meter of ribbon cable it will all be worthwile the feeling you get when youve made your own controller is so muuch better than buying one good luck

  13. thanks for all the interest sorry if i was a bit harsh david i know from trying that programing or trying to just hurts my brain to much but ive no problem soldering etc as ive already built two midi boxes but for these i used the standard mb64 code for the next midi box project that i want to make i need to use the 64e i was just trying to find out how much coding or as you say cutting and pasting this would entail. you can believe that i would have ago myself but its good to know that there are people who are willing to help thank you kris
  14. dsylexia is very different for every person to me it just proves that we all see the world completely differently and language is just the consenus we throw around that experience so any way being told that you should be able to do something because someone else can is not very helpful how ever well intentioned thanks kris
  15. yea for mobeius the enviromentalist well done for checking it out and not just throwing it down the drain without caring
  16. just for reference about injection moulding vacum forming custom cases theres a different method like laser printing but in resin i saw it a few years ago in a product design department of a university for making 3d prototypes of products while maybe too exspensive it might be worth trying some social engineering on the local uni get them interrested. it was totally crazy you input the 3d computer design and out of this tank it comes in resin anyway just an idea for you plastic heads for me ill just stick to boring old aluminium. kris
  17. wow i really like the style that is definately my kind of art
  18. hello just to say i run an amd athlon xp 2200 with 1 gb of ram for audio i find this quite adequate and something like this can be put together reasonably cheap. this system will record 8 tracks of audio live with out glitching and also run some effects. It seems a good sized lump of reliable ram is more important than processor speed. of course a good audio card is important. hope this helps kris
  19. thanks very much i can take it further then
  20. from reading the forum as i now understand the mb64e is capable 128 din's and 64 ain's so if i wish to make a controller with 38 buttons 22 rotary encoders 17 sliders 32 rotary pots this could be accomplished with 1 core running the mb64e code could somebody please confirm this to make shure ive read this correctly before i carry on any further with this project thanks. ps would i need to modify the code to run with cubase and reason and if so how much coding to be done roughly. thanks in advance
  21. whoops i forgot to attach jpegs hopefully there here now thanks kris
  22. hello mikeb as for cost loads! this midibox addiction is exspensive, but its priceless it suits my mobile needs like no other bit of kit could (thats the beauty of custom building). its an m audio 1010 delta sound card with 8 analogue ins and 8 analogue outs, i need so many ins because i use it for recording live musicians with eight mics into cubase sx. which is why im making a new midi controller top plate (i dont use traktor so much anymore) seem to be using cubase with reason rewired more im a bit embaressed by inside as its not as neat as id hoped but anyway here are some photos hope you enjoy when ive fineshed the new top plate it should be perfect well almost
  23. just think off all those poor old commodre 64's
  24. wow maybe there is on the new version
  25. i think theres problems with midi when running windows on intel macs hence the new version of traktor 3.2
