  1. You can take out 7805 regulator and switches are cool. I make jewelry from IC`s and big fuse. I`ll post some immages tomorow, maybe it will inspire somebody. There are lot of 104 capacitors but they are pretty cheap so it is not worth taking them out. Also big electrolitic capacitor but it is strongly advised to use only new ones. I found very hard to unsolder components from C64 double PCB, especially when you need to heat more than one pin at the same time. I think you better think using those boards in artistic purposes.
  2. You will laugh now, but I used hacksaw without piece for holding it because I didn`t have it at hand. Precission is really not so important because melted acrylic fill all holes. If some are missed they are easily to fill later.
  3. @aileroned I`ve been asked is my C64 originally black, and I aske back same question as you, because I`ve never heard there are black version. The guy said there are black C64. ??? I have about 10 C64 and they are all dirty white and light brown. Also, seams there is none of the exactly same colour and surface texture. Also they have clips on different places. They are all pretty different.
  4. The Trackball is USB, and box will probably contain USB soundcard, so both card and trackball will be connected to the USB HUB. The controler should have only power and USB plugs on the rear panel. I supose the USB have enough power to suply the MB, but controller will probably have pannel illuminated with superbright LEDs so this option is out.
  5. At last some immages of my holes filling... This is how it looks from inside. Piece of blue acrylic is glued to the C64 case apliing the gell like chloroform melted acrylic. I dont know how the hell inside of Jorge`s case looks so clean, but it doesen`t matter because it is hidden. This is how it looks after some sanding with coarse sand paper. And this is how it looks after some sanding with fine sand paper. It needs some minor crack filling and it is ready to be painted. I must say that the C64 case plastic is just great for fine sanding. It feels just like woods. The blue acrylic filling seams stick really great with C64 case.
  6. This is Logitech Marble Mouse Optical Trackball planed for the MIDI controller, me and my friend building for Ableton Live. It is perfect for mounting compared to the regular trackball because it has separated PCB and plastick ball supporting element containing optics. This is how it all will be mounted to the frontpanel. The Ball support should be angled a bit so ball could stick out from the pannel enough. Everything is going to be made of laser cut acrylic.
  7. I think you get we are talking about differences betveen A and normal version? It is abot 16F88 and 16F84 programing compatibility
  8. I had idea of making MIDI robot from the moment i read I can drive relays over DOUT. I wanted to to put PC with WiFi, webcam and MIDIBox driving relays for motors in the one box (ROV) and connect everything over LAN (MIDIoverLAN) with other PC on wich I can see the webcam image and I can have status leds and triggers. Is seamed to me as a pretty simple idea for making my own ROV since I don`t have anny programming skills. What is the way for using AOUT for precise positioning of some arm or something? I tought of using MF module for driving srm motors (not directly) and feedback from pots mounted on the joints for position feedback. Is it so simple as it sounds? What about PWM? Does anny MB app uses PWM, and what could you drive with it? Servos?
  9. Yes, as I said they are pin compatibile. I was concerned about voltages and maybe some options I sould check or uncheck. I`ll give it a try as it is 16F88. Thanks Wilba
  10. I like the sound at the beginning. Panning is too hard I thing, could be minimised bit. Which I really dont like is the sound of snare. Must be replaced. Bass is energy so it is hard to say much without it, but it is perspective track. Work on it. ;)
  11. PIC16F84 is pretty popular. Somebody here muste be using it before? Please, give me some info.
  12. That is beautifull machine, Jack! Display is definitly kickass. I am interested in black housing... I painted my Traktor controller black myself. But, your case is black inside. Was it originaly black or you painted it inside too? That pannel is made of??? and by???
  13. Can I use PIC16F88 adapter for programming PIC16F84(A) i need for some other project? They are pin cpmpatibile. What about programming software and voltages? P18 at 12.5V, right?
  14. So I`m only one interested to see how motorfaders actually work in real world. OK
  15. That`s a good one :) I must think of some other excuse since I don`t have anithing like Moog. I promissed myself that money from gear I can spend ONLY for other gear or parts, but somehow I always spend some on other things. I guess I`m not good in economy. :)
  16. I made most of mistakes just because impatiance. Once I connected oputput wires to the power suply. It wasn`t funny to me than `cause I fried everything but now... ;D ;D ;D I think we all have lack of time but one should find an hour a day for himself (MB)! If I managed to solder just wire bridges on DOUT in one day, I am satisfied. Sleep less, solder more!
  17. I tought I just can`t see it, but after some scrollings I was sure there is no BPM support. I think I am going to build external display. Much easier to see. I agree, but I would like to permanently asign those buttons for some usefull functions and engrave the panel with coresponding lables. I don`t need the function buttons as so. It is posible In Live also, and I supose in anny other software (I tried Reason also) I was confused because MEEF said "the F keys are assigned to track mutes 1-8 by default"
  18. Hey Doc yuo said I can display BPM on the display. I checked the lc_clcd.inc and it seams pretty understandable :) but I think BPM is not supported. I can find only this elements: rcall LC_CLCD_Print_STATUS_Digits rcall LC_CLCD_Print_SMPTE_BEATS rcall LC_CLCD_Print_MTC_Digits rcall LC_CLCD_Print_Msg rcall LC_CLCD_Print_Meters rcall LC_CLCD_Print_RSM rcall LC_CLCD_Print_SEL Can somebody confirm I can show midi clock/BPM on display?
  19. I think it is really good idea TK put MIDIboxes on youtube. Not because to see it is cool, more how it works and what can it do. I am really interested to see (and hear) how motorfaders are working on the LC emulation. How fast/quick/smooth can they move. How they following the curve recorded in software. Also some comparation between ALPS and Panasonic would be great. What do you think? So, if somebody have anny camera at hand (atleast webcam) it would be nice to put some shots on youtube. Thanks in advance. Sasa
  20. Dimitrije Dini? - ti si neki naš? ;) Nice, dedicated Brother and sister. :) Really good panel design. Too bad it is not screenprint or engraveing. Congratulations!
  21. F`s are Mutes? Are you sure? I didn`t tried them yet, but why there are dedicated mute buttons on SR #4? It can`t be Ableton mapped "F" and "Mute" buttons to the same function in Live. I instaled LC on SEQ platform I`m curently building so I can test it a little bit and I`m sure Mutes buttons have Mute function. ??? What do you think is good use F`s for?
  22. I had lot of troubles programming with few programmers (JDM and AllPICProgrammer), and several times I was sure PIC is dead. They also become hot, few times but... stayed alive. I found my first PIC I marked as dead a week ago and I sucsessfully erased it and reprogrammed it with no problems using PIC Burner and P18 software! I didn`t throw it away for sentimental reasons. :D I remember programming before PIC Burner... man, it was longest and hardest moments in my MB life. Now is just a joyfull routine. ;) So, I guess your PIC is probably alive.
  23. I couldn`t find anny 2n2222 on none of 3 C64 I have. ???
  24. Thorsten, ?????? ????????! Thorsten,Guten Geburtstag!
