  1. i'd say you can try different types of about the same value and then decide what you like best. styroflex are the most expensive and with the best performance (small tolerances also). but i found the sound of the ceramic and mylar interesting too. after all it's a matter of taste. and they're just a few cents so no big loss to try some different types.

    MIDIBox 808

you can also get complete parts + pcb kits for the core, din and dout modules instead of just the pcbs. you can compare the individual schematics in the pdfs given at ucapps.de to the .gif board files to figure out what is where, and what you'll need. for the wiring there are interconnection diagrams, sometimes in the project section (not always only in the MBHP section) the MB808 is based on the SeqV3. so you can also have a look on the sequencer related build docs, for example Wilba's control surface pcb to get an idea which components work fine. i haven't done detailed research about the MB808 yet so i don't know if there's a complete set of documents somewhere here on the forum or wiki. good luck!
  3. absolutely. you can also edit all parameters with only step A , not just select a patch.

    Midibox Plus inside

that's great! i need to do that for my WTPA. may i have a look at your firmware?
  5. cool, thanks!
  6. interesting topic. i'm about to give my stereo sid its final case and haven't tried the VCA module yet (just the VCF). so is it possible to control the vca from the same AOUT_NG that i use for the VCF? that would reduce the needed aouts for the MB6582 to to just 4! (so that would be just a 1 AOUT_NG per core setup then)
  7. up to you
  8. here: this is where you can find all the answers to your questions. why there were 2 boards, and now only one, what else is needed. the thread provides the link to Wilba's wiki page also. as i said, we won't be able to read it for you. if you like to build it yourself, then you'll need to read the matrial yourself, like everyone else. so diy and btw, if you like to see all info about the topic collected in one place, i'm sure nobody will find it rude if you create that thread and put everything there
  9. i think the mad pianist style is just cool  it also shows what you can do with the lite too.
  10. there are threads in which people ask the same question, about the seq status. answers also ;) but we won't be able to read them for you. there's also info everywhere about what you need for the sequencer. for example in the wiki. diy
  11. hi there, as far as i remember the SidV3 will be a LPC17 core controlling the other regular SID cores with their PIC18F4685 you'll find some more infos , Q+A in the SID section of the forum, search SidV3
  12. got mine today! thanks, Tim!
  13. the reason i thought you're funny is because you're asking for the pcb files to have them made cheaper in china or something. btw an email often helps. smashTV has always been willing to ship minor orders (like a pcb or a PIC) with the cheapest option if you asked him via email and made it clear that you'd do it at your own risk (ie not nagging him about it in case it wouldn't arrive, which never happened to me btw) thanks for the links. very interesting. eye opener.
  14. i'm in germany. no problems here.
  15. haha, you're funny. smash also offers cheaper shipping when you buy just a pcb or so look again
  16. edit: it's in the first post on this page, if you scroll up. it's the zip file.
  17. i admit, the origin adds to the dislike. but i really don't like the look of it either. and TK's C64 box looks very different to this imo. also quality wise. that's just a water color box, isn't it? +1 on the x0x look, but that's probably trying to make it at least look different, easy to go that route, as they are producing the Chitforbrains b0xes also
  18. have you put your name on the list? he has just started shipping, so you might be lucky.
  19. lol, no further comment necessary! bontempi meets water color box
  20. jojjelito, don't say you own a prophet3000.
  21. added myself for the sequencer part too.
  22. oh, that sequencer would be cool! making some seq pcbs also?
  23. if you have the MBSid just try the different waveforms of the individual oscillators, the ADSR of the oscillators and if the filter ADSR works. that should be it.
  24. yay, all your 6581's arrived today! thanks a lot, Lars!
  25. COOL!
