177 euros that's about what you pay for a full SeqV4 panel including windows and taxes. the MB6582 shouldn't be that much.

i don't see any problems with the board either. all components can be wired off board 1:1 in the rack situation i prefer panel mounted components over pcb mounted anyway, and if you like to make it as small as it can get the board as is is just perfect

there has just been a bulk order, so it might take a while until there's enough demand again. i have a set of the grey waldorf knobs leftover,but could be there are spares from the last order. good places to look are in the bulk order and the fleamarket sections

wouldn't it be easy to take the original usb jacks that are used in the gm5x5x5, put 2 on a perfboard and mount that to the front (and just connect the 4 cables (or 8 for that matter) with the pcb) ? but maybe i just failed to understand the purpose of the usb cable.

btw what do you use to fill the engravings? marker? i've done it with some marker before but that was just annoying. i'm thinking of using some acrylic paint (tomorrow)

hi, welcome! you actually only need the SID chips and if they work that's a great start. if you decide for the MB6582 you can also use the power supply and the power switch for example. all parts besides sids are easily available and no problem getting them. here's some info about the MB6582: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=wilba_mb_6582 unless you have a sammichSID this is the easiest (albeit large) solution in terms of wiring. and if you think you might like it so much that you probably want more voices, just do it. you can build it complete and just stuff the one stereo part and add the other ICs later. here are complete base board kits (and boards) (pos 70 and 72) available, encoders and other individual parts like preprogrammed PICs too: http://www.avishowtech.com/buy.html

nein, müsste einfach so gehen, ich habs gerade mal probiert. gehe einfach zu einer zeile mit einem ordner symbol, dann rechts auf download klicken. das müsste das dialogfeld zum speichern öffnen.

looks awesome! somehow at first glance the ponoko style is automatically translated into sammich format and makes it look small, but i know it isn't small at all. a second look makes it clear :) great job!

there's not much to solder just make sure you got the ics in the right direction. besides them it's just the header / connection wires.

i got a STM32 core so it *would* fit the 17" one but as i already have the 19" panel and prefer rack mount anyway, i'd be in for anything 19" we'd come up with

i guess this is about the 17" panel heidenreich case? if NOT, i'm in! i already got a 19" Schaeffer panel but i haven't found a decent 3U case yet.
