  1. These aren't the buttons you are looking for. Move along.
  2. Between you guys I'm going to have to rename this thread the "I have good taste in speakers" thread :D
  3. [me=stryd_one]does the "it's working" dance[/me] Now if it will just stay that way............ ;)
  4. LOL Nah I got 20/20 bi-amps. I haven't had a chance to A/B with the new ones myself, but a mate said they're pretty much the same monitor... It kinda makes sense, when event killed the 20/20 line before the ASP8's came out, they had no 8" monitors and I imagine it stung a bit so they re-released them with a name and minor design changes to match the new 6" monitors. Totally agree with what you said about the gennys too. obviously we have similar tastes in monitors. I owned a pair of tannoy reveals for about 3 hours before I returned them for a refund ;)
  5. Have you considered doing the trigger conversion in the analog realm? If you have no programming knowledge, you're not going to be able to pull this off ... until you gain some coding chops of course, which is very possible if you want to learn?
  6. I can't really say anything on this subject that wouldn't be copied from your post madox. Having heard all of them except the adams (they weren't around at the time), I went with the events. The gennys were nice but wow, megabucks....
  7. Agreed. I moved this to the MIDIbox Documentation Project subforum as a failover because I lack the time to wikify it myself right now.... But the wiki is where it belongs. Which reminds me: We're still in desperate need of contributors to the new wiki layout!!!
  8. Nice one ssp. I was going to say, but you left the channel before I got back: You should move the big jog up (away from you), and the knobs down (closer to you) so that you can use the box well. Small movements are better performed closer to the body, big movements further away. Gives your elbows room to move.
  9. What you're talking about is a clone of the commercial offering we discussed earlier... don't worry about ASM, you might as well do this in C I think - and the code would not be too different to your pseudo code :)
  10. So this highlights that the problem is not with the xtal or caps, but with the connection between the PIC in that socket, and the xtal and caps for that core.... Did you do the resistance testing I suggested? What are the results at each point?
  11. I think the best thing to do here, is to get the parts, and breadboard it up.
  12. Yaknow for a guy who was rushing me so much, you are really slow to reply! Should I go ahead and close this tab, and delete the temporary files I'm holding to try and help you out? Have you disappeared?
  13. Just FYI: I think TK is already planning a MIOS32 LC in the future, so you might want to see what he has to say before you get started, as (knowing TK) I'm sure he has thought about it and has some ideas up his sleeve ;)
  14. I assume they're sysex? I'm sure they're not real MIDI status bytes because they're all > 0x80 :) Well, even if Yamaha did it in a strange way, at least they are one synth manufacturer who built in some microtuning support... or, per-note pitchbend anyway.
  15. That looks about right to me. If you want to check it, maybe see if you can find schems for the other DIY encoders, like rasteri's or sashas. I would assume that you've found the other threads about mouse encoders already, and they didn't have any schems? It would be cool if you could tag them all, so that those threads lead to your answer :)
  16. Yeh it should work, for MIDI at least. You get a 10 bit range for your pot position, which is 0...1023. In theory, you'll get 1/3 of your throw, so that's 341.3`... So you can still scale it without too much lost data. It could be tricky though, as you'll have to calibrate it for it's min/max, as it'll be unknown. Have a look around the forum for TK's scaling algo (scaling is the keyword there), it might be handy here. That's with the 10K pot. the 5K pot might get a bit warm, I don't know. One way to find out... ;) I dunno, the short answer is yes, it's totally do-able. I can't guess whether it'll be easy, or difficult :)
  17. Damn that is nice :D Big ups to wilba for offering up a tasteful LCD to match it, good on you man! Photo resolution thoughts: From a moderator's point of view (ie, from the POV of someone responsible for making the forum comfortable for everyone - not *my* point of view, but the POV of the person in that role), Ilmenator is right, those images are toooo big. 3072x2304? I don't know many people with a monitor that big. I (sadly) do know a few people stuck on dialup, who would not appreciate the long download times. That leads me to a tech's POV, the pics are blurry enough that such a high res is simply a waste of bits. They could be half that, and not really lose much. That said, from the synthgeek/GAShead's POV, as m00d pointed out, it is nice to have access to the superduper high res photos if you want to see them that way. Perhaps it would be best to upload one of each (low and high res) in future...? That way everyone is happy... Anyway we can move that discussion to it's own thread if you guys would like to find a good alternative guideline. In the meantime illy, if you use firefox I recommend the ZoomFox addon to help out with big images like that. Unfortunately you do have to do a couple of extra clicks, but it is a bit easier to deal with, and comes with some nice bells and whistles.
  18. Hey gtx, nice to see you in forum :) What happens when you send it MMC?
  19. Please read the sticky threads! This topic has been moved to Design Concepts. [iurl]http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=13204.0[/iurl]
  20. Yeh that's a super nice x0x for super cheap, I'm surprised it hasn't gone already!
  21. Well the MIDIbox can be modified to use these, but with the MB64 app as it is, no they won't work with full range. Can you change out the pots for 10k 90degree throw pots? Edit: or 270degree throw 30k pots if you can mount them so that only the bottom 1/3 is used
