Since a lot of the designs here try to work around the issue of the gm5x5x5 being suboptimal for a rackmount unit, let he humbly offer my lowly PCB expertise :) If one of you guys comes up with a really nice design for a unit, I'll gladly rework the gm5x5x5 pcb to make it work with that setup. :flowers:
Quoting the mighty SmashTV, after helping me for an hour straight trying figure out an issue with a freshly assembled core module, where I had left out a few parts that I didn't "need":
"See how $0.20 in parts has got you chasing your tail?"
Just sayin' :ahappy:
The display really isn't new at all. Had it for almost a year ;) TK has had the driver for a while too, iirc he wanted to put it in the repository at some point, it's prolly too messy and scares him. :twitch: Then again, the SSD1322 and 1325 are pretty similar anyways...
Nope. I prefer not to have trouble with software. Makes things a lot easier. The init commands are straight from the datasheet (except for the bias and grayscale settings, which I tuned a bit. Then again, since I am drawing 1bpp (instead of the 4 the display can do) it doesn't affect it in this little gimmick).
I got bored there for a second, waiting for the last payments on the gm5x5x5 bulk order, soooo...
Not much to say about it really. It's an stm32-core running Conway's "Game of Life" on a NHD-2.7-12864UCY3. :frantics:
Flaky pics are somewhat rare. How about you show some non-blurry, decent resolution pictures of both sides of both PCBs? Maybe we can spot something odd.
Does the app upload work reliably?
Yeh, I agree that it's definitely not necessary, then again, there's no real need to keep the thread clean as my update posts are mere copies of what's on the order tool anyways, so ya, do whatever :frantics:
Congratulations everyone. All invoices are sent. Payment deadline is November 25th.
Some stats about the order so far:
- Only 3 people including tvdv up here failed to wait and PM'd me/posted here instead. This is a new record low
- Only 3 people forgot to put the country in the address field. As usual it was 3 americans doing it
If the loopback test (MIDIbox not involved) doesn't work, then the issue is your MIDI device/software settings. Are you positive you selected the correct output device in MIOS Studio?
