  1. never mind shipping to the US is 35 euro :'(
  2. About all of the recessed switch are gone but on the pictures which one is witch? The only ones left are domed and flat but I am not sure which one to get because there are only two pictures and not three.
  3. Do you think smash is going to sell this? after the bulk order anyway? The only problem I can think of is figuring out which way resistors go because I always had smash's lovely pictures of the modules showing each properly placed piece. I am spoiled now 8) Nebula thanks for doing this. I still have 6 of your lcd display that you sent me and I can't wait to get them on MBs without having to rewire them each time. this pcb will save alot of us hours of build time.
  4. I am currently using beyerdynamic DT 770 pros. I got them from a guitar center for only $75. The noise reduction is great but they are BIG cans. I have a family always shouting my name and I can't hear them until they are right in front of me hitting me. I get scared a lot that way :) Anyways I think they have a little too much bass and I love bass but in doesn't seem to mesh well with the other freqs. They are very comfortable for long listen periods because they have some velvety type material which goes on your ears. My only problem with them is the bass as I have caused recurring distortion/blowout in one can which is now a little bothersome. I did this with my nord modular using a devastating bass patch. ;D If you want life lasting but uncomfortable cans look into grado. I have there r60 which don't have alot of bass and don't go into reverb nervana with the highs but they just will not blow out no matter what bass I throw at them. The main problem with those is comfort and they look like the are from the 60's. I remember technics made a dj model that I thought was the best vaule at around $99 and overall performance I think it was RPDJ 1000 or something similar. The freq response was awsome! I think it went up to 35khz and you could really hear it. I remeber listening to some autechre and I could hear reverb tails like they wanted me to. I have since never heard such good high freq in phones. The could get really loud too and everything seemed well balanced. I think they stopped making these and now have a new model. If this if off topic let me know
  5. I found that using regular pin headers like the ones in smash's kits along with some nicer crimps like the tyco cst-100 work very nicely and take very little room. I just add some heat shrink to each connection so the crimps don't ever touch each other.
  6. Since I did get those great lcds I am a little interested but price is a factor. Could you possibly give an estimate? would we just get the same parts needed from smash i.e resistors, crystal, octocoupler ect..?
  7. that looks like a playstation controller. why don't you buy one locally for 5 bucks and crack it open
  8. Nice one. I think with all this damn talent around here we should join forces to become super power of sorts. Create some kind of music label and with all of the programmers, artists and DIYers this can be piece of cake. I mean we have already heard of many differnt talents that all contribute to something greater and we should really explore that some more. Any thoughts ???
  9. Sounds like a great idea! Now I need to find out how to get a UAD card running in a midibox.
  10. Damn Wilba. I wish I could program. I just setup audio and video equipment for hotels. Its a piece of cake compared to midibox. And Narwhal big props man! Interstate '76 kicked freakin major ass. Have you had a hand in the other silent hill games past? Now I must get PS3 you bastard ;) I thought I could live without it and just get 360 but....
  11. How are you connecting the din to the core? Are you useing an 10 pin IDC connector? I originally did this but found that I I too was having problems with trying to get both a din and dout working off of one IDC connector. It was only untill I decided to individually attach some tyco cst-100 crimp pins to each wire going from the core to the din to get it to work right. I found that only one header row on j1 of the din works which I believe is the inner row closer to the resistors. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. Then slap some heat shrink on each crimp pin aswell to make sure that the crimp pins don't touch each other. Anyways thats how I got mine to work. I am trying to figure out what you said about "I'm reading 5V when unpressed and 0V when pressed on said button DIN pin." Isn't it working then? Its late need sleep. Goodluck
  12. I would like to get 60 ice cubes please when your ready.
  13. Thanks styrd. I'm still learning but that doesn't give me an excuse for not searching the forums harder. I am just glad that you guys are here to help.
  14. Borat. "Very Nice" ;D I know what a dremel is but could you explain what you used it for on your box. About the midi jack hole I first drilled a small hole then bought a unibit which has like 10 differnt sizes of holes on it. The more you push into the case the bigger the hole gets. This extra tool made it very easy to do. I think it cost about $20 USD I also had a question about your veroboard. How much did it cost and where did you get it? Because every where I look I find that longer boards are at least $30 USD each. I want to do pcb but it may be too time consuming and even more costly. And about shifting the screens. Do you mean move both screens 3mm to the right in relation to the encoders? So the far right encoders below each screen are closer aligned to their screen position? So if this is the case then first align the screens to the encoders then move screens 3mm to the right yes? And finally. The eusart bug. I am not looking at my pic right now but how can you tell what revision it is? I got mine from smash back in sep 07. Please let us know how bad ass it plays when you get a moment with your new best friend.
  15. I wanna do a full cs for mbseq v3 with both lcds, all buttons, lights and bpm display. Then also another lcd and about 32 encoders for mb64. 1A should be ok for this? I read other threads that anything above 1A for MB is not recommended.
  16. Is it possible to run two cores off one power supply 9v 500ma? Would the power requirements change? I want to build a mb64 and mbseq v3 into one case and hopefully use one power supply.
  17. Hey everybody, I am still working on my mbseq v3 and was gonna just do stripboard/vector board for the button mounting but I probably won't be happy with the end result because I am using smaller boards and have to cut some to get the right length. I wanna try a pcb for the buttons. Does anybody have some pcb design file for seq that I could use as a template to get started and hopefully just move traces around to suit my needs? I have never attempted pcb design so a template for mbseq would greatly help. I got a nice table top case that is about 12" high and 16"wide and I am gonna do a stacked 4 line arrangement where the top line will be GP 1-16, then next line down f1-4 play stop menu ect.., 3rd line down track 1-4 layer 1-3 edit solo mute, then 4th line being group 1-4 layer select 1-3 and what ever else is left. I know I am rambling but just to give you an idea. Sasha I know you had a similar really nice design for mbseq v3 but it had the extra 4x16 matrix. Could you throw me a file that I can play with? Thanks to everyone and everybody. I just bought the case and its getting shipped to me right now. I think I will have enough room for a MB64 with two rows of encoders in the same case as well which should be killer. The brand is hoffman but I cant remember the model number right now. I will post some pics of it when I get a chance.
  18. no luck at winehq appdb with music generator or music 2000. I also checked on codemasters which is the developer and found a few titles where some work and some don't under wine. Anyways thanks for the info tux.
  19. Who knows maybe Smash will take on another tremendous effort for all of us underlings
  20. Hey guys heres a big one on ebay! http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Simmons-SDS-6-Drum-Sequencer-with-MIDI-upgrade_W0QQitemZ150215510342QQihZ005QQcategoryZ38069QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. Styrd I was under the assumption that the MBSEQ 3 can't do straight midi dumps. Correct me if i am wrong. I was wondering the same thing about droping logic, cubase and protool tracks thru midi dumpage to the MBSEQ. I think currently you have to do it track by track in sync right?
  22. Well the new MPC uses smart media for storage and I think the note capacity is very high aswell. The nice thing about the mpc is that you can record pattern based or just record untill you say stop. Hope that helps. I assume this is just for dumping your Cubase, protools ect tracks to something that is not a computer? I personally don't have one but let me know how it works out if you decide to try it.
  23. Does anybody use MTV Music generator or Music 2000? Can anyone please tell me if they will work on linux. I know these programs are getto but they rock! The only problem is that other windows sys apps in the backround might be affecting their performance.
  24. prof you got me thinking about booting up your pc as a daw. Can a windows pc do this? I wanna be able to boot my sequencer up only but I am pretty sure it needs some kind of win98 or higher.
  25. Count me in for some silk screening please. How soon are you going to need the designs?
