  1. yeah, incredible, you can sand it full pressure with a K60-equipped belt sander and quite nothing happens :)
  2. Very nice solution and all from Reichelt! Great!
  3. +1 on the 8580 stability - i have 8 different ones - they all sound the same, same volume. Should there be differences in volume, e.g. on the 6581, that can be adjusted in your mixer. Regarding optimum MB6582 SID loadout, there are different opinions - i wanted them all to sound the same for maximum lead engine polyphony and am proud to already have bugged TK about 12 SID support in MBSID V3 :) Greets, Peter
  4. You can also follow Retro-donalds design - i built one PSU according to his schematics recently and it works great... my pics: link to the schems: http://www.retro-don...wernetzteil.php should be translatable via google translate but you will probably understand it without translation... it also has protection circuitry in case a voltage regulator runs berzerk... so that your valuable SIDs are safe :-) Greets, Peter
  5. From the album: Hawkeyes MB stuff

...for the worlds-first ebony MBSEQ v4 Ebony is very hard stuff, took some hours of woodwork :-)
  6. yes, that is ok Wikipedia has a nice article on SID revisions. From Wikipedia:
  7. all the soldering around here makes my head spin from the fumes :-)

  8. yes, it works, you can also have a look at this thread, beginning here: where a custom interface is built on veroboard without a matrix. Greets, Peter
  9. Welcome! My standard C64 PSU has 8,5W on the 5VDC (aka 1.7A) rail and 9W on the 9VDC (1A) rail. I know, that it is really at the limit when driving a fully populated MB6582, so - while you can try, I´d highly recommend to be on the lookout for alternatives. Also, the old C64 bricks are known for trouble, so it would be wise to replace it with a more modern PSU at some point in time :-) Greets! Peter
  10. Your 808 clone sounds really good, especially with these mods! Are there any schematics for the standalone (modded) drum modules (e.g. triggered via pulse from a MBSEQ) available? No, it is not important, just pure interest, and surely not added to the build pipeline, da**it :-) Greets, Peter
  11. +1 on transparent waldorf knob backlighting - they look awesome and come in all colors. :-) Especially recommended shades of color: Emerald City Green and Lava Red.
  12. Holy moly, you release things faster than we can test  Thank you very much for that feature!!! *upgrading to .46* Edit: a few hours later... just tested it - it is working really fine and is especially useful for moving tracks around into a more logical order, and is cool for quickly copying a full track with all settings and then modifying some notes for a variation... very good! :ahappy:
  13. Very nice! Just as another feature idea - what do you think about a "complete track clone" feature? It could be activated by pressing any available hotkey + "Copy" - it will copy all of the active tracks´ notes, length, mode and associated settings to a buffer (e.g. on SD for main memory conservation?) This buffer, including full track information could than be pasted on to any other tracks, when the same hotkey + "Paste" is pressed. It would be nice, if the paste would also work on a group of active tracks, e.g. tracks 5-8 in group 2. (I am aware, that the note copy/paste features are available, but cloning would affect "everything"). Personally, I would use it a lot, as I find myself quite often adjusting multiple tracks to use the same midi-out and channel, have force-to-scale on, use the same pattern type and length, fx, etc. Also, having a prepared fallback "on disk" buffer would allow for longer and more risky track editing, involving many steps not only on the notes, but also on track parameters - if the editing fails miserably, you can "paste" and try again. Greets and thanks! Peter
  14. Good to see, that something is happening :-). Do you know already, if it is possible to order transparent grey or transparent red windows (for a bright VFD)? Greets, Peter
  15. There are tools and common analysis methods (in fact, there is a market for identity matching tools, not only in the gaming and gambling sectors, but also regarding fraud-prevention in e-payment systems), but in this case, you just need your eyes. I´d also like to stop the discussion on this subject now and concentrate on more productive things :-).

    Already looking really good!
  17. Which types of SIDs are you using (6581 or 8580/6582)? If you can obtain some replacement SIDs, you could exchange them for a test. I don´t know, if anything else on the hardware side could effect the availability of the filters, e.g. wrong filter caps? Some moar feedback from someone else is needed :) Greets, Peter
  18. You need to activate them again, of course - CHN 123 (Activate Filter on all SID channels) - MOD L-- (Lowpass), then sweep the Cutoff from 000-FFF, while playing some notes, to see, if there is some filtering going on. Greets, Peter
  19. Please perform test 2 -> read my edited posting above. Of course, you should hear "filtering", e.g. with a low-pass filter, there should be a significant cut-off in the high frequency sounds. If that does not work neither for the right nor the left SID, both SIDs may have damaged filters (although I think that is unlikely).
  20. You go to the "FIL"ter menu (click the second button under the display, then click on FIL) and remove the assignments to the SID channels 123, so that the value under CHN looks like "---". For the second test, change the cutoff to a higher value ("CUT" -> "FFF") or to a lower value ("CUT" -> "000"). If at some point the volume comes in as in the other, normal loud patches, your filters are ok, but the patches have the wrong cutoff values. Greets, Peter
  21. +1 on Wilbas proposal regarding the filter test - please turn it off in one or more of the affected patches, to see, if it makes a difference (and the filters are damaged). Assuming, that your SID filters are not 7-feet-under, this could also be an explanation: I once reconfigured the filter mode (calibration?) from 6581 to 8580 in an ensemble and wondered, why many patches went silent (low pass filter) - turning that fine cutoff knob resolved the problem in a second :-). Greets, Peter
  22. Please, no hurries, it is not so important. I will look into multilayer designs, when everything gets a little bit clearer :-) And thanks for the datasheet link, that is it! :-). Greets, Peter
  23. Bilderbuchi, Cigue is Peter Lindener, if you want proof, pm me. I´ve been working in the multi-hunting business (finding multi accounts controlled by the same human player in browser games) since 2003 and after analysis of a few keywords and sentence punctuation habits, you will see it. Greets, Peter
  24. surely not me, i just observed coincidences in the last weeks, that´s all :-)
  25. That would be a rather cool ´hood project. Garden sprinkling, synchronized to your newest beats :-) Back on topic, I begin to see a scheme here, if MIDIbox software/hardware was converted to the Arduino license, all doors to unrestricted commercial utilization would be wide-open, right?
