    StereoSID Case 4

Cool, that will be a unique case! What kind of insulation layer/chemical do you use to avoid the fiberglass layers (probably hardened with epoxy) from sticking to the wood model? Greets, Peter
  2. Heheh, G.A.S. is better than G.B.S :-)
Ciao, Peter
  4. Very nice, i like it / Schön, gefällt mir gut! Greets, Peter
  5. +1 on all what Phil said - have fun with your fantastic new synth, while building it and when playing it :-)
  6. Hi fussylizard, thanks for the confirmation! Greets, Peter
  7. Great! If he agrees to do so, then +1 for me :-) Cost ca? Greets, Peter
  8. That is a wise choice... Me is ´prolly also following that road :) Greets, Peter
  9. 1,5mm + 1,5mm is ok - thanks for measuring it, orange... So, how can we motivate reboot to do another batch of say 10 to 20 for all the interested folks around here?
  10. Great and thanks for your hard work (and nice to see the usual suspects on the shipping list )
  11. Hi, this is the bulk order thread: TK. said, that he has some PCBs and Mag Jack ethernet sockets left over, so you could contact him... Greets, Peter
  12. Hi, Now that is a very interesting picture - all characters are shifted by a pixel to the left and to the top - you can read that it says MIDIbox SID - CS not enabled.... Do you have any other CLCD for testing? I´d think the display has a problem, cause I´ve never seen such an effect... but thats just a feeling :-) Greets, Peter

Oh, like the easy part... I feel your pain. It's tricky even with an editor.

Maybe reserve two days for that task :)

  14. Thanks a lot, nebula :-) - of course the SIDs could have done it! But I really didn´t know what to play before the recording, so I saved the 4-note max polyphony for a potential quad note chord or so (using the MB6582 for the bass would have cost one :)) - am also proud to already have bugged TK. for 12-SID support in MBSID V3 :) Greets, Peter
  15. You can do that directly in youtube - there is a comment editor. Have a nice evening! Peter
  16. Thanks for your info, findbuddha - i think we need extruded units like these from orange_hand, with the possibility to glue them to the backside of the panel - the MB6582 panels are only 1.5mm thick... Orange_hand, could you please measure the thickness of your windows for us? Thanks! Greets and have a fine evening! Peter
  17. @Antix, yes it is the same as from the Tutorial... Orange_hand just wrote me, that reboot did his - maybe he would be up for a group order? I am a bit concerned regarding the thickness of this thing though (there is not much room to my VFD front glass). How thick is the Ponoko variant? Greets, Peter
  18. Thanks!
  19. I really cannot recommend blue ones for your retinas - there is one exception to it, if you mask them with white paint, the Siempre La Luna style, which looks awesome! Greets, Peter

    StereoSID Case 4

Looks interesting! How do you plan to create the plastic case with these irregular angles?
  21. Hope I didn´t miss anything: a) checkout - use subversion to checkout the latest mios8 sources b) toolchain - manage to compile your own midibox sid -> and test upload mb6582.hex to your first core. c) replace app_lcd.inc in mb6582 directory with your new version (e.g. the downloaded one from my thread) d) adjust main.inc to use custom display type 7, i think. e) adjust makefile to include app_lcd .inc f) test with garbage instructions in new app_lcd.inc, if it is compiled (compiler should be annoyed) g) adjust initialization code in app_lcd.inc h) compile new version i) upload to first core
  22. Orange_hand, where did you get them from? I like the Ponoko version as well, it looks very professional. Greets, Peter
  23. I agree to some point with NorthernLightX - that´s why I did not add detailed build instructions for the "retro-donald" PSU in the tutorial - I just don´t want to see (or hear) someone having the electrocuting trip of his life - in that case, 150$ are the better investment... For all others willing to take the risk... just "clone" the given schematics and you will get a nice PSU... when feeling just slightly unsafe about it, buying the proposed alternative from mouser or using a high-freq switcher is the way to go... Or... and I want to bring that up again, build the protection circuit as a standalone unit... this won´t help against age-based failure of your complete power brick (as in orange_hands case), but will protect your SIDs in case of a vreg failure. Greets, Peter
  24. Interesting & very good looking! It seems to be one-part only (not glued together)? But has it a protrusion on the backside to glue it into the frontpanel from behind? Greets, Peter
