  1. It's not really as I said before. I downloaded Jjonas his mellotron zip, and unapcked on a SD Card. There were 346 files on the Root, I put it in my MBSD Card player, anf it worked like a charm. So I checked the card and it was FAT32 formatted. Anyway, it seemed to work, so I'll investigate this further. Only thing I'm sure of is that my windows PC said that the max number of files was reached on my FAT card. It was around 250 files, and there was enough room left... Cheers, Roel
  2. I'm making new sample banks, but I can't put more then 256 files on the FAT card ?! Is this normal, and how did others deal with this. I would like; 64 files x 8 banks is a max of 512 samples on my card
  3. Right, now I know! that was the hassle, and I 've all in my archives. Thanx again!
  4. Hi Sneakthief, I'm interested in 0.5. I bought one here on the forum, and put a lot of effort in it to get it working with the latest release back then. But I loved it, great application, I have to dig it up, but this seems a good reason. What's with 0.5? Cheers, Roel
  5. Yes, there is. But everytime I tried to download/edit the bigger files like MBSeqHW.V4, MIOS Studio seemed to freeze, it couldn't contact the Core anymore. After clicking the update button it contacted again, but I couldn't open the files, again,...so that didn't work for me. After all this hassle I installed the GM5 driver for 64bit windows version, I'm using windows 10 64 bit, and now all seems to work OK. I just checked and I can open all files, download the midi files from my sequencer, etc. So my troubles seems to have vanished. I thought I had installed the right driver before, but re-installing it seemed to do the trick!
  6. Ok, I have my sequencer back. :) Contacting over USB didn't work anymore, but when I attached the sequencer with the midi in/out ports to my GM5 USB MIDI device, MIOS Studio recognized the LPC17, and I was able to upload the SeqApp again. It's a bit of a hassle but at least I'm able to reach the SDCard without dimolishing the casing....Thanx pointing me into this direction
  7. OK, now my sequencer turned into a mass storage device, and I'm unable to reach it from MIOS Studio:( Good thing: I did understand the "readme" :)
  8. Ok, now I'm confident enough to try it. I was afraid MIOS Studio wouldn't recognize my board anymore. I'll try and I'll let it know.
  9. Yeah, I saw this app and I'm using a LPC17 board, so that would be OK, but as far as I understood, I can't upload the Seq app afterwards. The "read me" says it turns your board into a mass storage device, and that you have to remove the SDCard to disable this function.....
  10. Is there a way to get full acces to the SDCard without removing it. I have some trouble with MIOS Studio and my SeqV4/LPC17 board. Mostly I can't download the HW4 file, and I would like to import MIDI files from Ableton. For now I don't have a MIDI directory and I'm not able to create one. I have an acrylic case and it would be quite hard, maybe impossible, to open it without damage.
  11. Any progress on this. I bought myself a board and I'm just curious...:)
  12. Hi Vodrha! I just react cause I'm a real fan of the clockbox, but unfortunately I can't help you. I've build a clockbox myself: THIS ONE It works great but I wanted it to slave to another midiclock,. As you can read in THIS POST I tried to modify the code to get the slave function. I spent hours/days with it, but I'm no programmer at all and I got stuck. As you can read in my posts I tried to copy codes from an earlier version, with slave functionallity, into the new code, buit I didn't really know what I was doing....In the end I came quite far, I got it slaving, but with output BPM's 4 times as fast. But with the divisions I can get the right BPM's slaving. So working, but with some nasty workaround..... I hope you manage to fulfill your needs, and.... maybe you can get it slaving the right way :)..Wich version are you using? Goodluck and cheers! Roel
  13. Yes, totally possible. Just add the AOUT_NG board to the sequencer board, and you'll be able to tweak and edit the midi2CV converter settings from the sequencer menu. You can even expend your gate outputs to 64!!! for triggering drums and you can add 8 extra clock/start/stop outputs wich can have their own timebase, configurable from the sequencer. You'll have to enable these options in the MBSEQ_HW.V4 file on your SD Card, wich you can edit with MIOS Studio. I'm not sure how you'll hook up the AOUT_NG board etc. but it's all well documented, I only know it's possible, I did it myself and it's working great!
  14. For me the same, I never programmed or wrote any code before I started midiboxing. In the meantime I've build a lot of different midiboxes and I'm still far from being a programmer, although I'm a wannabee now, cause I know how handy it is. I recognize your point, back in the days I red a lot on the uCapps site and forum and didn't get the whole picture, I didn't know where to start. After a while, several years, I just ordered some stuff to make a simple midicontroller, just 8 faders. As soon as I started the pieces fel into place and I came to understand the structure of MIOS and Midibox. And then I realized it was always there and the basics are quite simple. But it's also so big, so many possibilities that you can't put that into a simple video instruction. And it's very logical that you can't get the whole picture at once, but if you know what you would like to do you can start with it. I'm just glad people here put their effort in building their stuff and share it, and I can't expect them to also make video tutorials or so, but maybe it's handy, feel free if you start a project and do a video contribution! And if you would like to build a Midibox you should have some interest in finding your way, otherwise you're far better off buying some commercial stuff.
  15. Hi, The SD Card Sample player is a project that @Lee started and @norbim1 took it to another level, see this thread. I just used their info and code to build my own. I still use it a lot in my eurorack but I have some trouble with it. I use the onboard 3,5mm jack output from the stm32f4 discoveryboard and the output signal is really low. If I play multisamples, like a piano chord, I get a lot of distortion. I tackled this by using low level samples but then the output is really low. I put it through a VCA but that add noise/hiss. But If you use external DA converters/opamps, it may not be a problem. Never saw the beatsqueezer before but it looks like a great machine, I would like to have/build one! And inspired by this thread I checked muffwiggler and found a thread about this little board from sparkfun. That also looks like a very good option!
  16. It's been a while but I just got all information from the wiki and this thread. It's all there, I didn't do any code just used what Lee and norbim1 created. You can download the right version, also for STM32F4 from the SVN repo HERE
  17. It has +12V, -12V, gnd and +5V indeed, very handy. I found several of them on a local metal scrapheap, in an open electronics container, they were in professional video stuff. Some were even wet from rain, but they work perfectly, I have one in my sequencer, modular rack and MBCV2. I love diving in containers, last time I found an almost new Samsung 10 inch galaxy tablet :)
  18. The solenoids I ordered use only 120mA and the ULN2803 could drive upto 500mA each output, so that won't be a problem. I don't know if the solenoids will be powerfull enough, but when I'll check bigger ones, I'll look into the current thingie. Thanx for your input

  20. I was thinking of building a drummachine something like this And as an extra I would like to add piezo contact mics, to amplify the sound. I want to make some sort of toolbox, with clamps and stuff, so you can turn anything into a percussion instrument....might be super Cheers, Roel
  21. Thanks for the answer! I did use a transistor switch circuit for adding LED's to my gate outputs so I'll manage that. On the highly liquid forum I found something with an ULN2803A transistor array. I just ordered some solenoids inChina, so now waiting for them to arrive. Cheers, Roel
  22. Hello, I would like to experiment with this but the link to the schematic in this article is broken :( I'm looking for a schematic for dout > solenoid, anybody any idea's?
  23. Howyeah, PCB, TIA and maybe a backplane would be great, but PCB and TIA only is also good! I'll make a friend VERY happy with this. If you tell me where to put what money, I'll pay immediately. Thanx ahead. Cheers, Roel
  24. oh, got away for a while and totally missed this. Any chance for me to get a pcb and or enclosure? Cool project!
