Kurze Antwort: Nöööö Lange Antwort: ... soviel Zeit hab ich jetzt nicht. Nur kurz soviel: Falls Du mit Chip den PIC meinst. Darauf ist MIOS und Deine Applikation. Also wenn Du z.B. eine SID baust, ist darauf die Steuersoftware für Midi, die Bedienoberfläche und die Ansteuerung für den Sid. Falls Du mit Chip ein EEPROM meinst (z.B. bei der SID). Darauf sind dann Deine Parameter für die Sounds gespeichert. Bzw. Deine Einstellungen Samples werden nich gespeichert, dazu sind die Chips dann doch a bisserl zu klein. Es geht auch primär nicht ums speichern, sondern ums steuern (= Controller!) greets Doc

Neee midi is midi.... Ich nehm z.B. immer die ain64_din128_dout128_v1_3.zip um alle Taster, Leds, Potis zu testen, damit man im nachhinein Hardwarefehler ausschliesen kann. Das wichtige dabei ist die 1 an der dritten Stelle von rechts. Die sagt nämlich dem PIC, daß er mit einer anderen Baudrate zu Werke gehen muß. Das war der Unterschied. Jetzt fiel es mir wieder ein. Die Ansteuerung über den RS232 hat eine andere Baudrate wie via Midi. DIe 42 kannste ignorieren. Wenn Du den PIC preloaded geordert hast, hättest Du vermutlich angeben sollen, dass Du ihn seriell brauchst. Aber TK macht Dir das schon (Falls er very busy ist, kann ich Dir das auch machen). Es gibt keine 32box hex.file ... es sei denn, Du programmierst sie ;D Ich würde dir aber empfehlen, erstmal (bei funktionierendem Core und vielleicht DIN) mal ne Testsoftware zu laden um alles zu testen. Das System ist modular und so solltest Du auch vorgehen. Wenn das MIOS mal drauf ist, ist das wechseln der Applikation ein Midi-Kinderspiel. Wenn dann alles fehlerfrei läuft, klatschst Du die midibox64 drauf und kannst mit gutem Gefühl loslegen. greets Doc

No, I don't agree. It's not frustrating at all (sometimes amusing, but not frustrating!) I remember discussing the same thing a long time ago. Didn't such lists already exist on ucapps, the forum and the wiki? The pain is (in my opinion) that there are to many sources for a single problem. If we start another section for noobs we ran in even more problems. By the way. Wasn't there a section for noobs in the forum some time ago? I still don't think it's frustrationg because if I don't wanna answer a question I read the next. No problem for me. For new members it is sometimes quite goog if the same problems are repeating. They won't have to search so long in the forum for help. Last but not least: Strictly: No. Some basic skills are essential. Otherwise we'll get very frustrationg threats. Examples you'll find in the german board. It's quite simple: If you don't understand the basics of an airplane you'll never be able to fly by yourself. - But you can take in an airplane without knowing how to fly. ... er meint SAMPLEORDER. Du kannst auf der Homepage Samples ordern. SOll heissen: Du kriegst 3 chips für lau. Nicht im mios studio. Wenn ichs noch richtig im Kopf habe mußt Du schon beim brennen vom PIC (bootloader) eine 1 an einer bestimmten Stelle in der ID setzen. Das geht aber nicht so ohne Weiteres in der neuen Version der PIC-Burner Software. It sounds like a good idea to tell the noobs the direction when they sign in the forum. But I think, that is our part. Let them post a question, and we guide them on the right way. I think, thats our part in the forum also. It sounds much more friendly for the asker if he is getting a "personel" answer than a anonym list of things he has to do after signing in. This way works now for years and a lot of "old" members formally started as noobs (all of us ...exept one ). I still remember my "warm" welcome. This is one reason, why this forum is one of the "friendliest" (oh boy my english ... sorry for that) I ever signed in. I fully agree with Falkenberg: Keep it friendly and personel even if it takes a little effort to hold that level. And .. on the other hand ... some of those questions are really funny. Hey... I also have these tools, but: - if I need it ....I will never find it (yeah, thats my fault, I know ... what a mess...) - even with these tools it's sometimes pretty hard to get the ICs out . greets Doc

... or you rip off an old organ ... I did that with some Dr. Böhm organs (well known in germany). You'll get them for a few bucks and they have pretty good fill size keyboards which are mounted single (Every key has four screws on a frame). So you can unscrew as many keys as you like and the cut the frame to the size you like. greets Doc

You're right. The LC emulation is a complete application for MIOS ... not for the PIC. In other words: First load the operationg system (MIOS), then the application (LC) greets Doc

Hi, As mentioned before, you'll need a MF Module for the motorfaders. The Touchsensors of the motorfaders are also connected to a din (but you have to change the resistors for them !!) If I get you right, you don't want select buttons and encoders ? If you want status leds (a must for the transport buttons ... I think) you'll also need some DOUTs. MIOS will be full compatible ... if you use the mackie-emulation. Which host do you want to control with LC? (Thats a important question for answering the compatibilty...!) For your setup you'll have to change the mapping a little bit but thats really no problem. I (or somebody else) can help you with that if your baby is alive. The Touchsensors are connected to a seperate DINx register The Motorfaders are connected to the MF Module The MF-Module ist connected to the core. greets Doc

... but also mention: The "drilled" sockets hold the IC very strong. That's very good for mostly all purposes. But if you often remove your ICs out of the sockets. It is F**king hard to get them out again. I think, for digital applications the normal sockets are as good as the drilled ones. For audio applications I'll prefer the drilled IC sockets. greets Doc

Hi Dj3nk, ja, ein tolles System. Das Foto taucht immer wieder sporatisch im Forum auf. Es gab sogar mal einen User, der so ein ähnliches System gebaut hat (mußt ein bischen im Forum oder in der Gallerie stöbern). Ist aber schon länger her. Die Idee, MBHP modular aufzubauen ist nicht neu. Der Grundgedanke von MBHP ist ja auch modular. Damit verbunden sind natürlich auch zahlreiche Nachteile und mal Hand aufs HErz: Wer möchte seinen mühevoll gebauten Controller ständig zerlegen...? Da baut man sich lieber gleich ein ordentliches Teil und basta! Rein technisch betrachtet ist ein modul-System durchaus denkbar und realisierbar. Ich befürchte allerdings (auch bei dem von Dir gezeigten System) gibt es früher oder später Kontaktprobleme. Und die verwendeten Stecker (wenn ich richtig gesehen habe: Stinknormalo Klinke ... ) tragen ihr korrosionsreiches Tüpfelchen dazu bei. Fazit: Lieber fette Eigenbau-Box als magere Modullösung ... meine Meinung greets Doc

ääääähhhmm,, grade eingefallen, ohne Midiport kannste die ganze Aktion über Bord werfen. Ganz so ist es nicht. Mit dem LC Modul kann er seine Midibox seriell betreiben. Dies war früher der gedachte Zweck des LTC. Insofern hat Vinyljunkie recht. Das Core Modul sollte aber dennoch zunächst funktionieren, bevor er es seriell betreiben kann. Wenn ich mich richtig entsinne, muß man aber beim Einsatz des LTC als seriell-to-midi eine andere Device ID in den PIC brennen.... ich weiß nicht, ob das immer noch so ist...früher wars mal so. wenn ich jetzt die ics schon falsch dran hätte und es wäre schon strom durch gelaufen, heist das jetzt das die kaputt sind? Meistens JA , manchmal hat man auch Glück.... ich würde sie sicherheitshalber tauschen und wenn alles funktioniert kannst Du ja einen Test mit den "Wackelkandidaten" machen ... aber wenn ich frage wo genau die bypass kondensatoren rankommen und ich sage das ich das nicht richtig erkennen kann auf den hier gezeigten seiten... Wink Die Bypass Kondensatoren sind ganz klar im Schaltplan gezeichnet. Diesen sollte man schon lesen und verstehen können. Nach erneuter Durchsicht dieses Beitrags kann ich mich nur seppoman anschliesen: Ein wenig Grundlagen studieren kann man dir echt nur empfehlen, da ich denke dass Du auch weiterhin über Dinge stolperst, die hier jeder als selbstverständlich ansieht.
