  1. You could use the following solution: Just assign bank up (bankstick) / bank down to two buttons in each of your used banks. Then assign 1-8 to bank 1 and 9-16 to bank 2 and so on. This way you have something similar to a shift button (even a little more flexible). Greetz!
  2. No problem *I think*, because: The AIN is also based on 0V/5V, so you can hook that theremin up directly to the input pin of any AIN input. If you look at the schematics, the pots are connected to GND and 5 Volt, the middle pin going to the AIN. Instead of that middle pin, connect that theremin. Just be sure to use the SAME GROUND!! Otherwise you could have fireworks. Anyhow, good luck!

  4. Sorry, but the link doesn´t work at my side (there´s coming nothing - even not 404 error). But: You can test regulated/not regulated with an oscilloscope setted to AC. Put the amplification pretty high, if the 50 hz sinus is just in range of a few millivolts, it should be regulated. *IF* the fuses are on the primary side: Just take the 220 Volts and the fuses rating to get a power rating (e.g. 20 Watts or whatever) and transform it back to the voltage + current on the secondary side (e.g. 10 Volts and 2 Ampere). To go sure take the half current (e.g. 1 A). Normally this is OK. I hope... 8)
  5. Looks kinda interesting (and sounds also). But also like big BUNCH of programming... The velocity sensitivity is also a prob (although not unsolveable)... Iiiiiinteresting... Would be interesting if anyone had practical experience with it. Anyone? ;)

    Yepp, in modular synthesizers your idea is called a "EIEF", meaning: External Input Envelope Follower There are kinda many schematics out there doing that (the most ones without bandpassing!). Anyhow: The schematic is NOT that easy! The bandpass filtering, the input / output stage, the envelope filtering and so on should fill up at least 1/2 of a 160x100mm PCB in best case I think.

  11. AAAARGH! OK, call me an idiot: With the last update of the Patches I deleted my own versions... they are vanished....:P just one patch here, sorry. Will send you that one, as soon as you tell us the accepted formats...
  12. Naaah, not the total point you got there. There are many different devices here on www.ucapps.de and all got their total own software. E.g. the MB64 for 64 pots controlling MIDI, the MBLC as a Emulation of the Logic Control or the MBSID as a 4x SID Synth. The only thing they all got in common are the PCBs. The PCBs are made in a semi-modular way (e.g. for buttons the DINx4 PCB is needed in every application). The heart of all is a PIC controller, which runs the needed software. Pls take a good look again on UCApps.de to get everything clearly! About that keyboard thing: No idea... ;D Greetz!
  13. Aaaaaah! Now I understand! :D OK, like the buttons & LEDs are ordered on the frontplate, something other came into my mind. So: Why no matrix solution like in the SID? Meaning: Instead of pushing button 1 five times having a row of buttons to the left of the LEDs that directly selects the row (matrix solution)? Just a suggestion (your version or the suggested one don´t bring in THE big difference anyhow). And why just three buttons? Why not four? That way you would have 24 controls at hand (with 6 coloumns). And the max you would have to push one buttons goes down to 5 (instead of six at mmt). Both just two more *suggestions*! Just *IF* you haven´t thought of that already (which I really dont think... ;) ). One other thing: Because of the 8 Encs under the LCD: Yes, that´s a point. But if you arrange it like this: First Enc under LCD, second above LCD, third under LCD.... and so on, you got plenty of space to make wild things. Just as a workaround (I thought of). Pretty COOL indeed up to now!! ;D
  14. You catched me in the middle of studio-redesigning. At mmt nearly everything´s up again, but it still can be a while until everything´s perfect again. Although I just got a few patches (I even don´t think more than 3), you will get them as soon as possible! sysex message OK?
  15. Hey TK! Looks pretty simple this time! That means I like it! ;) I do appreciate that also 8 Encs will be possible, I like it this way (like in the MBSeq). Just a minor question: The 4 multipurpose encs... There are 4 Encs, but just 3 Buttons + LEDs to select the activated control? Does that mean that each Encoder can have any of the stated Controls? Are the buttons not assigned to a specific Encoder? If that is so: Perhaps make two modes? One as you stated and the other one (which I would like much more indeed): 4 Buttons + appropiate LEDs. Every button is assigned to one of the multi-purpose Encs. This way you have the same assignable controls on the same encoder in every patch. Advantage: You *always* see, what your Encoder controls at the moment and double-assigning is not possible (two encoders assigned to the same control) and one encoder always controls the same parameters in all patches (this way you could make something like a "Envelope Encoder" for ADSR + LFO and one "Drum" Encoder or so...). Disadvantage: The same Encoder can not be assigned to *all* the controls (although this is not such a big disadvantage). What do you think? ;D Greetz!
  16. Yeah, you see that right: AIN for pots/faders (analog voltage range 0 - 5 Volt) and DIN for buttons (input: 0 Volt or 5 Volt). You should be able to get the most by reading stuff on www.ucapps.de, everything´s excellent documentated. Greetz!

  18. btw: I tried the Yamaha DD 55 Digital drum set in the meantime (220 Euros). Before I tell more: I gave it back the next day... LOL! Anyhow: The drum sounds are very classical, but I really didn´t buy it because of that (I wanted to trigger drum samples in my comp). To round it up: It´s big, it´s much air, it´s consuming ALOT of power (16W). And changing the sended note for each pad is a HORROR. The pad velocity is OK, although the velocity chaning in three steps is *very* rough in my opinion. Really good for drummers perhaps, but nothing more. SO: I gotta build it myself again! ;D Still looking forward! :D Greetz!
  19. Hey there! @Jack: Cause you have to watch so f***ing dammit lot of stuff. There is the phase correlation between the both boxes, the perfect filter frequency again (which is coupled with the phase correlation again), the volume to base tube length factor, the base tube length to base tube diameter factor and so on and so on. And if you got *ONE* screw which is not fitting, it starts rumbling again. And: If you buy the boxes, the case, the electronics seperately (without thinking of the working time) you are most likely to come over the price for which monitors are selled. Try it! Anyways: I was @ Thomann and listened to like 10 different boxes. I am really suprised how BIG the differences are!! (When that guy there changed the boxes the first time I thought I had to listen very closely now - but the differences are SO BIG!!! SOOOO BIG!!! Would´ve NEVER thought that!!). Here are my thoughts (if anyone interested): - Genelec (dont know which - more of them): ? ... ?? .... Studio standard? Why? I think these are candidates for "Love them or hate them". I could imagine that they´re pretty good for classical stuff, but they are loosing out when it comes to electronic music... NAAAHHH! Not for THAT price! - Tannoy Reveal: WHAT THE?? Even worse! That guy told me that the passive Reveals are better, along with the more expensive stuff from Tannoy. But the Reveals DO suck. Sorry to say that. Again: MY subjective impression. - Behringer B2031: The heights are overweighted and start nerving after 1/2 hour. The rest is ... let´s say OK... but not more. Good price anyhow... - And now it comes: NF 5029!! Nobody knows them?? RIGHT! Why? Cause they´re exclusively made for Thomann in Germany. They´re manufactured in Finnland. Pretty small size & price but indeed a VERY linear response. Mids precisely, heights precisely (nothing over- or underweighted). The only point is that their lower cut frequency sits´ @ about 70 Hz, which is pretty high for electronix music. Anyhow: VERY GOOD PRICE for such good quality! - THE WINNER: ADAM and ADAM forever!!! WOW! Nothing more to say!! Absolute precisement over the whole range!!! If you take the P11 or the ANF10 plus good amp. WOW! So my boxes @ moment will be the NF 5029 along with the Subwoofer ESI SW 8000 to support the frequencies below 80 Hz. Works F***ing good for that price (in the whole 700 - 800 Euros). But that´s definitely just a temporary solution for me: The ADAM are my absolute favourites and I will get them one day! Saving up 1400 Euros (or more for the P22 *dream*) and then having the boxes for lifetime! So: THNX for all those suggestions! Helped me a lot before going in to serious! Hope everyone here finds the perfect boxes! ;D (like AndrewMartens ;)) Greetz & thnx! PS: Holywarmodus still needed or can I switch it off again? ;)
  20. When you´ve flipped the PIC you have pretty sure burnt it out... pretty sure. There is a *slight* chance that it got outta there without damage, but that´s just a point for fast reacting people ("Huh? Warm Pic... ... HOT PIC???" *Pulling fast*). :'(
  21. Something similar: The UCApps Midi Int you find on UCApps.de, but that´s with SMD soldering (which is not *TOO* hard after some training with old soundcards ;)). It´s pretty the same to the Midisport 2x2, if you email TK and ask him about that, he´ll tell you why? *BIG ;) ;) * Anyhow, I also got a Midisport 4x4 and I can absolutely recommend it! It´s really a good one! Never had probs up to now.
  22. ;D ;D I see... not. ;D ;D ;D Yeah, active monitors is highly subjective as the most of you stated, too. Tomorrow I´ll drive to "Thomann" (Hi Jack! ;)) and listen to some setups. Especially the ADAM stuff and the Tannoy Reveal system + Subwoofer (@Screaming Rabbit: Reveal! ;D) - with sub cause the Reveals got a pretty high cutting frequency when it comes to bases. I´ll also try the Genelecs, but to be true, I´m hearing so MUCH controversing stuff about those boxes I´m pretty unsure about them (even those "Thomann" people said they do overpaint the mids in some way)... soooooo.... So I´ll just listen again... 8) As long as I got no decision: /Holywarmodus=1 ;) Greetz&Thnx. As I have some after tomorrow, I´ll tell you about them. PS: @ScreamingRabbit: 8000 Euros is a *BIT* heavy for me. I planned in a max of about 1000 Euros.

  24. Yeah! Analoge modular synthesis rocks!! ;D Got a DIY MS2000 (Formant Pro - based on the Formant presented in the Elektor magazine). Only wish the pictures would be a bit bigger and with more quality so you can see some details! Greetz from here! ;D
  25. Hi there again! I know that I´m posting lot of micellaneous stuff in the last time, but hey whatever... ;) So: What monitor boxes do you all use in your studios? And what are your experiences with those? What can you recommend? Reason: I had a pair of Behringer 2031 and they were pretty good (especially for THAT price!). But they started to clirr (is that the right word for the german "klirren"??) after about 1 1/2 years, so I gave them back. I was pretty upset, cause I had to hear myself in to new boxes now... so the next ones were Fostex PM2 - 200 Euros more money! And now it comes: They are much more bad than the Behringers!! Really! The heights are not so brilliant and a little nerving and the bass amp is absolutely underdimensioned (it gives up really soon). So I´ll give those back, too. As you see, I start getting nerved. I just want some boxes I can have for the next years, so I don´t have to listen in once per year. So what can you recommend? Thomann told me that passive Adam ANF10 plus a good Samsung Amp would be a good starting point below 1000 Euros. What do you say? My favourites are active boxes, as the biamping has it´s clear advantages. Discussion started! ;D PS: THNX again and again! I think most people here do know stuff much better than any salesman out there...
