Eintrittspreis?

I dont see a donation link for Thorsten sooooooooo

Thnx for the link! And: Yupp! Doepfer is F***... They are also *really* unfriendly. I once had a Pocket Fader (BEFORE I found UCApps ;D ) and had a question about it and also a good idea as an addon (for bank changing). They did not answer my question and just threw away my suggestion very heavily (they were like "We are Doepfer, we know the stuff, you´re just a customer"). Hands away is also my opinion... -

Can you give a direct link here? I can´t find it actually... :-X @ TK: I don´t think so, TK. I mean the stuff that people want extra stuff for donations. The first point is that you can make it anonymous (as you do actually) and second point is that you can tell this fact to the people (directly next to the link) that there won´t be any extra support for donations. It´s just the following point: There is SO DAMMIT MUCH TIME in that stuff you built. Doepfer & Co is just kiddy stuff compared to UCApps. (Nearly?) No one will claim new designs just because he/she made a donation for sure. It´s just giving back a *little* due to your effort. Im in there! ;D -
For best noise to signal ratio you should take TK´s design as an orientation, so yes, one 9V and one 5V thing. You can also use one 15 Volt line for all power stuff, but the SNR will get really bad (I tried it). Greetz

:o :-X :o :-X :o How much will *THAT* cost?? Reminds me hellish to Startrek - The overnext generation... how much warp is that capable of?? wow... anyhow still good luck on those LCDs!
-
And then get the next PA out (already bridged) and bridge that one, too! ;D ;D In the end you have tens of PA´s bridged for one box breaking through the roof... :o ... yeah, will try it definetely (as you stated with the NE´s - already used those for headphone amps). I´m just a little concerned about the phase correlation - but well, just will try it anyhow...

??? no idea in fact. If it delivers enough voltage (12 Volt) no prb at all! :)

@ moebius: *ME STUPID* Samson not Samsung.... :P ;D E.g. SAMSON SERVO 550 (rockin´) Thnx for the advices! Didn´t think it would come out that comlicated...

:-/ First: You need at least 12 Volt. So e.g. 8 AA normal batteries or 10 Nimh Accus. Second: The SID *with* CS needs good current! Without backlighting the LCD there should be still more than 400 mA needed (I think... not to sure about that). With 10 AA´s you have about 2000 mAh (Nimh Accus). So that sums it up to 5 hours running time (*about*). With 20 AA´s 10 hours and so on. So, yes, you can make it mobile, no prob, but it won´t run to long and the batteries needed are summing up to some amount of money&weight. Just make it both: Battery and wallplug powered. ;) Greetz!

Immer noch nix? :'( *Daumendrück*

Hi! Maybe dumb, yeah, but hey, whatever... ;D How do I "bridge" a stereo amplifier to make it mono? Serial, right? The plus of left side to the minus of the right side and the box into the not plugged thing, right? Is it possible to bridge all Amps? Like Hifi-stuff from Sony to Samsung proffesional PA´s? Reason: I got two amps (both commercial Grundig stuff) and two BIG boxes. Both amps got to less power to get all out of the boxes, so I thought of bridging both to make them two mono amps. THNX! Greetz! :)

To come to a totally other point... All this stuff made me think of an (really WEIRD) thing: Let´s say somebody made an old Midibox (like that MBPlus or so) and doesn´t need it anymore. He is allowed to sell it on Ebay or so, right? He has to claim that there will be no official support and it´s based on GUI, but anyhow you could sell your stuff, right? *NO*, I won´t! Naaaaah and I also don´t think many people would (it´s some thing *YOU* made not some company). But this thing just keeps in my mind... Thnx in advance! :)

In fact, that´s a little bug in the 6581 (and the 8580 later). People in the 80´s used this "bug" to make the 6581 a sample player (they just turned the volume up/down to play a sample). Do remember the *really* shitty samples from that time? :) Greetz!

Everything right (the cap and stuff) but only one thing: *Every* PSU has much more voltage if there is no current going out. So the 12V instead of 9V is OK. Give it a little current (like at least 50 mA) and you will see it dropping. Anyhow that should be no problem, because the 78xx is getting the voltage down to the needed level. Greetz!

Really cool design! ;D Would´ve never come to *such* an idea! Reeeeeaally cool idea!! Can you make a photo of the inside? ;)
-
Did you check all the voltages *before* you put that ICs in the sockets? You should always do so. This way you can be sure you didn´t switch the polarity or so. With 5V/GND it should be quite possible to destroy some LCs. If the supply voltage was switched you can be pretty sure about that.

;D ;D ;D The MBUSB is cool! Check UCApps.de! ;D ::) If you don´t wanna DIY it, then I would recommend Midiman stuff. E.g. the Midisport 2x2. (Ebaying or directly) Greetz!

??? ??? ??? That´s weird as the backlight is overrated on the core... The normal layout + resistors on the core make the LCD backlight going to the max of about 300 mA. Try following: If u put backlight to full output, measure the current going into the master core (+/- 5 Volt). It should be at 300 - 500 mA. Is it is, that´s likely the max you can get outta there, more would fry your 78xx perhaps... If it´s under there (lets say @ 200 mA or less) there is still plenty of room and you could change some resistors on the master core to accomplish more backlight. Just try it and tell and then lets see... :)

Looks cool. Just not really for mastering, but looking like very cool FXs. Will check them out! :D

Yepp. :) You might want to change the behaviour of that button. There is a marker in the main.asm for that. If you put it to 1 (it´s standard is 0) the link is enabled as you turn on. That way you don´t have to click it always as you turn on.

The bug is downsized in the 8580, but not gone. It´s still there, if you push the volume you still hear it. The SNR (signal to noise ratio) is just better. Anyhow: At first I didn´t like it, too. But with the time I realized it brings in some interesting "analog" type of background sound (which you don´t really hear anyhow). At first I killed it with noisegates, too. But with the time I threw the noisegates out again and just muted the track within passages where everything had to be turned off. It´s bringing in some (you might kill me for that word) "natural" behaviour of the sound. Like alyways: Try it with, try it without and *then* do decide. ;) Greetz!

Yepp, that´s no prob. I used that one often in my analoge modular Synthi (a Modulor 2000). Just be sure to clamp all grounds together (without ground loops!) and use that switcher to route the signal (analoge signal). No prob at all.
