:o CEWL! Thnx a lot, that sounds awesome (in fact a whole hell lot of more than I was searching for!!). Will try that one definitely!!!! All those plugins in one! I did use all those stated there (except the exciter) up to now in single plugins which were all together mostly be like barbeceuing my CPU. :D :D :D Will give feedback!

Not the answer to above, but I also just wanted to bring your mood up again, TwinX!! My SID didn´t work properly for about four months with no improvement (*really* weird random sounds here and there). Just after installing the MIOS update with the hardware change everything is fine! Neither TK nor me really do know what was wrong up to today. But **** it does work! So: DON´T YOU DARE TO GIVE UP!! :-X ;) ;D The SID *is* some hell of a sound machine, it´s worth it! Up to now TK solved every prob so heads up! *Pressing all those thumbs I have and don´t really need now* Greetz & good luck & good mood!

Watt? Anhauchen?

Errrrr.... don´t order one.... two, three.... what the heck ... you´ll use them *someday*(and the price is really no point) ;)

Yeah, multiband is not bad, but I think only usefull for getting the dynamic down (especially in the bass and mid range). But the cool about exciters/enhancers is that they *add* dynamic range to the upper part. They do add more treble if there´s some high stuff playing (like hihats). The mix gets much more highlights. Multiband just brings it down, mixed with some EQ-like gain of the frequqencies - it´s really just not the same *I* think... I´ll try that VOXciter, but as you stated, perhaps it´s not just the killer... Did you ever try Spectralizer? It´s some veeery good tool and I really don´t think you´ll get the same result with an multiband compressor (as the compressor really does the opposite). Thnx!! Any other comments/suggestions/*Plugins* or does nobody use these effects here? ;)

Also two often errors: - Is there really MIDI coming out of the comp? Can you check that? (e.g. with some synth or so) There are often some lame Midi Interfaces (most often gameports or so) that do not send MIDI cause of some tiny prob with your software. - Is the optocoupler OK? If you have put it in the wrong way *once* it´s fried. To go for sure, replace it (and put it in the right way! Opposite to the PIC). Also always some good option: The LTC. The Midi In LED is always some kinda practicable. Greetz & good luck!

Hi there! At the mmt I´m *really* searching for some good psychoacoustic plugin. Talking about any Enhancer/Exciter or even Vitalizer - would be best, cause combination of all. VST/DirectX ...whatever :D The Spectralizer in Wavelab is at the moment the only I have and it does not work with Cubase SX (tell me why the **** ...) Any help/discussion appreciated! ;D

You really could hook the piezo to some amp, but what you would hear is not very interesting. The piezo sends voltage propotional to the speed it´s moving. So if you sqeeze it you would here some click (something like a single sqare or similar) but not more... nothing really interesting. Like Sephult said: It´s getting interesting with other stuff!

Just a word: Encoder! ;D So, if Pot is to coarse and button is just to lame... encoder. Detended one. Very nice feeling changing the progs then. Just a suggestion. Not really any answer. Greetz anyhow!

Don´t believe it! This fricking **** even clamed this here: "... is based on Midibox LC open source firmware and design ... " What the hell are those guys up to? *ARGH* *coming down* just do hate guys like that, sorry! Just absolute :-* to SamshTV quickly cleaning this mess up and to d2k for finding this ... *!&§$!"%Z!!* Greetz!

Aaaah! Cool! *Light going on in my head* Thnx for that info!

Good chance that you fried it, yeah. Just measure it without being connected to the SID if there´s still voltage coming out. There is a fuse in the PSU (screwed - somewhere at the side), but I don´t know if it reacted soon enough. Pinout: I don´t know exactly now, but in the schematic/PCB, the big line of the 78xx is the metal on the back. Fried caps: *BURN* *BOOM* Especially Electrolytic ones. That end of line cap should be connected, cause it´s filtering the AC out. Greetz!

My homemade PCBs don´t look like this... why? :'( (*SPAM* ;D ;D)

MB64e Stays in "FORMATING BANKSTICK 1" UNSOLVED
pay_c replied to gillesdeshays's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
Just btw: I know that you checked the soldering, but connector stuff is always a little tricky. Check the voltages on the 24AA. The supply and the ground lines. Perhaps something is switched. Also, the 24AAs seem to make lot more trouble than the 24LCs. I also used AAs in my SID and I switched them all to LCs, because random sounds were coming out (!). Although this issue was solved by the hardware change, so really *do* consider doing it. Good luck anyhow! -
Nope! 4.2 Volt is to less! I think of following: You put in first IC -> works, second IC -> voltage drops cause of current -> nothing works anymore. As the voltage comes from your core you *must* have the same voltage as there, at least 5.0 Volts, better something like 5.1 or 5.2. If you have less voltage everywhere (also on the core) you have some drain somewhere (short - check if the 7805 get´s to hot - like to hot to touch) or your powersupply is to small. If your core read 5 Volts and the DIN does not, there *is* something with your DIN. In both cases, a broken IC can cause the prob. Greetz & hope it starts working.

:o (let me count: one hand, second hand, two feet, perhaps my head... 5 actors for 16 sensors!!!) 16-32? Woah! As soon as my diplomwork is over (streeeeeeessy stuff) I´m in there!
-
Either again some solder-prob (short somewhere perhaps) or you really fried them with the last trick ;D. Did they get hot? Do they? If one of both yupp -> kentucky (fried ICs). *Always* check the supply voltage of every IC before you put it in. Normally the rest doesn´t need to be tested (all the Ins and Outs). Hope that helps some bit. Greetz!

E.g. Reichelt: www.reichelt.de Search for "Taster" or "Schalter".

That´s OK. The voltage there is just a max. The cap won´t hold up more. If you need a 10uF/12V e.g., you also can take 10uF/25V 63V 100V. No prob, those caps only get bigger with the voltage.
-
Normally open: Yeah. pedals? You need very stabile stuff then. Anti-vandalism stuff. This will hold everything. They´re just a bit expensive. But you don´t want that stuff to break in half a year. Greetz

I got 4x 6581s and 4x 8580s and tried various ways. But I really prefer the 8580. It sounds much stronger and deeper, especially the filter is absolute coolness. Yes, the 6581 really sounds filthier. A little more junkier (in the good way), too. Now I got 4x 8580s in my SID and sold the 4 6581s here on MB forum. *My opinion* ;D
