22nF seems to be recommended/common for 8580/6582. This only affects the filter though and is not the cause of your problems. From your description, there's a bunch of things that can be wrong: - core -> sid module interconnection recheck the wiring and try the interconnection test app (http://ucapps.de/mios/mbsid_interconnection_test_v2.zip) - sth is wrong in the audio output circuit - check the polarity of the caps and make sure you have the right transistor (also check the orientation) - sid is dead. Let's hope for the best ;)

If you don't happen to find someone - what exactly is the problem, we tend to get stuff fixed via long-distance forum assistance a lot ;)

Das Thema ist in etwa so alt wie der Lötkolben selbst. Und Du wirst von 10 Leuten 12 unterschiedliche Meinungen dazu hören. Ich löte seit jeher alles mit einem ungeregelten 15W ERSA Lötkolben, der mich mal um die 15€ gekostet hat. Das hier ist das Prachtstück: . Mit alles meine ich sowohl das ulkige Through-Hole Zeug, als auch z. B. den gm5 oder den stm32: Das geht problemlos. Zum Lötzinn: Völlig Rille ob Du eher ein umweltbewußter Mensch bist oder nicht - bleifreier Zinn lötet sich beschissen. Besonders als Anfänger. Würde ich persönlich nicht machen, zum Umweltschutz kann ich wo anders deutlich mehr tun ;) Ich kann Dir wärmstens den hier empfehlen (gibt's zum Beispiel bei Conrad): Jetzt noch ein wenig zitierei des bereits geschriebenen: Lüften löst das Problem mit den Elefanten auch sehr gut. Oder eben während des Lötens die kleinen Rauchfäden, die da aufsteigen, nicht direkt direkt einatmen ;) Ei. Auf keinen Fall - egal bei welcher vermuteten Temperatur - die Lötspitze irgendwo 5 Sekunden ranhalten. Lötspitze an die Komponente, Lötzinn ebenfalls, nach max. 1-2 Sekunden muss der Zinn schmelzen sonst ist ohnehin was im argen. Üblicherweise ist bei Werkzeug "you get what you pay for" doch immer ein wenig wahr - und das klingt sehr sehr billig ;) FAZIT: Ist alles halb so wild mit dem Löten. Kauf Dir einfach bei Conrad einen LED-Blinker Bausatz und löte den zusammen, um wieder reinzukommen - das kostet nicht die Welt und wenn Du ihn kaputt lötest ist nicht viel hin. Dann wird ein neuer Bausatz gekauft so lange bis es klappt :)

SIDPLAY/W has a channel mixer that allows you to mute the channels. It's under View > Mixer. Dunno about the OSX version.

That's exactly what I was referring to when I said:

Did you source the parts yourself or buy a kit? Help us out with some more details here, please.

Which means the upload didn't work... Have you uploaded MIOS? If so, how long did that take? If it takes that long, there's usually a problem somewhere that and you cannot really rely on the upload having worked.

What midi interface are you using? Is it on the black- or whitelist?

Nothing really :) I think "Tips and Tricks" is a really nice section for this.

The two "missing" caps are indeed for the crystal. This layout is pretty old and since swinkels has reworked the schem etc. it would be a smart move to make a new layout. Maybe I can look into that if you ask nicely :)

It's the lexan panels mentioned in some other thread around here.

Someone pretty skilled at obtaining SIDs already tried that source a year or so back. With no positive results.
