@mda If you build the PSU like I did, then you are on the safe side. You can support both SID's. The 9V is sourced from the transformer and the 5V is provided by the switching PSU. On the MB6582 the 12 V are generated by adding the 9V with the 5V. So no need for a separate 12 Switching PSU. General comment: It is not required to build a crowbar if a proper switching PSU (e.g. 5V) is used. In my example the switching PSU has a protection against shortage and doesn't produce noise in the audio path. I have recently check this with my scope. Cheers orange

Hi, check this out. This is easy to build, works perferctly and doesn't produce noise in the audio path: Cheers orange

Hi, I would also take one of the new (bigger) cases. Cheers orange

Hi, can you please post a picture of your PCB (especially the area around the power supply) in order to see which components have been populated. Cheers orange

Hi, I checked the following when I built my MB6582 (no IC's installed): What do you measure at those points ? Cheers orange

Hi, another question: While searching at mouser.com I got the following ones: PT78ST105H PT78ST105V PT78ST105S PT78ST105ST Package Suffix (last one or 2 chars): V = Vertical Mount S = Surface Mount H = Horizontal Mount ST = ? Which of those is the right one ? Did you use the PT78ST105H ? Cheers orange

Hi, was there a change on the PCB required ? Traces to be cut or additional wires ? Would be great if you could explain what needs to be done in detail (preferably with some pictures :-) ). Cheers orange

The assembled PSU: And finally some pictures of the PSU together with my mean green machine :-)

Hi guys, I took some pictures when I built my MB6582 custom power supply. Please find attached some selected pictures of the PSU and how it was made. The PSU features 2 streams with each 5V DC and 9V AC. So you can run 2 devices in parallel with this PSU (e.g. C64 and one MB6582 or two MB6582). Preparation of the enclosure: The components: more pictures to come ...

Hi, very nice your trance track ! cheers orange

Hi Guys, here are some additional details: On one line I added a fues and a crowbar, on the other just a fuse. On this picture you can seen the first line completed: On the next pic you will see the assembled PSU: The LED's are indicating whether the 9V and 5V line is available or not. The 9V and the 5V lines are fused, just in case :-) Cheers orange

A commercial SID synth that look damn familiar (seen on MESSE)

Hi, we can give it another try next year :-) Cheers orange

There is no frustration on my side. I was just wondering if this bulk order is still valid or not. There are no dates mentioned in the bulk order, but I saw that some individuals updated the list recently and I decided to do the same, just in case :-) I can also confirm that SmashTV sent me a message that this bulk order is still valid. I think he will update everybody once he is ready to supply kits. So, I relax for the moment, especially as I was able to get a nice case for the sequencer :frantics: (I also missed the bulk order for the case ...) I am looking forward to build this nice sequencer .... Cheers orange

@Monk: nice PSU that you found on eGay :sorcerer:

Hi Guys, I am looking for a Control Surface PCB for the Sequencer V4. I know there was a big bulk order in the past, but unfortunately at this time I wasn’t aware that I need such a machine. If somebody has got some spares, I would be happy to buy at least one set ! Thanks & Cheers orange

Hi Thorsten, thanks for your feedback. You are right with your statements, the session is to static overall... There is a lot to improve. I will try to apply your suggestions in the next session... Cheers orange

Hi Guys, I have got recently a new sampler, the Octatrack. After I got my hands on for a couple of hours in order to learn the basic functions of this machine I decided to record a short jam session. I hope you like it. http://soundcloud.com/orange_hand/orange-hand-octatrack-vs Cheers orange

hmm, I guess there is not much potential for another bulk order this year... Cheers orange

MB6582 Sequencer to control other MIDI Synths
