[SOLVED] Debugging my MB6582 - Part 1 - Encoder issue
ilmenator replied to EsotericLabs's topic in Testing/Troubleshooting
There is an article in the Wiki that gives some troubleshooting hints. Also, what you describe is not so surprising: encoders and switches share the same shift register chain, so if those SRs for the encoders are located before those for the switches, and you remove these SRs in the beginning of the chain, then obviously the switches are not scanned properly anymore either. The rotary encoders are connected directly to the first four DIN modules on the base PCB (i.e. JD1 to JD4) as per the normal way of connecting rotary encoders to DIN modules. I guess the switches follow a matrix approach. -
Actually, I don't think the situation is that bad for most users: if you are not planning to move the LPC module to a different core board ever (and most will probably never do that), then you can just use the header pins for the two parallel pin rows as described in the instructions, and use wires (cut resistor legs) soldered in a one-to-one fashion between the remaining pins (those that don't physically match).

While checking for someone on this forum who had asked me whether I would have more of these boards available, I found the parts for four more semi kits hidden in my secret (never-even-started projects) vault: 1x MBHP_AOUT_V1 board 2x MAX525ACPP 1x MAX6007BEUR Again, asking price is 35,- € plus shipping for the set. I'll be in Berlin next week, from where extra cheap shipping is available via Deutsche Post (compared to shipping from Norway). PM me if interested, if you want cheap shipping then Saturday latest!

No, usually this should work ok, too. However, you could always try to use MIOS Studio and the filebrowser as recommended above - this way you will also be able to modify the config file itself, while it is sitting in the SEQ's card slot. It's a good test to see if the card is properly formatted for MBSEQ to recognize it, and if the file can be accessed properly.
-
No folder named Root, just place the file at the root level and it should work. If not, maybe there is something wrong with the hardware? Do you get the "SD Card connected" message on the LCD screen when you insert the card while the MB SEQ is on?

If it's there it's usually there for a reason... so yes, it does matter, and yes, you will have to repair it if you want your unit to function properly.

MIDIbox CV for controlling 2 x MS-20 clone filters

True, upon closer inspection i see that the round upper part of the key cap is not round but flattened. It's still a beauty! -

Vielleicht kannst du mal zusammenfassen was du eigentlich tun willst, welche Teile du hast, und bei was genau du Hilfe brauchst!
-
Yes - do you want a or just the board? Please PM me with your address so I can find out how much shipping is.

Correct! MIDI is old-fashioned but still quite useful, and above all very consistent, timing-wise.

I recently received a few requests for TPD kits, as some of the parts seem to be difficult to obtain in some areas of the world - surprisingly, the 7 segment LED displays were among them. Unfortunately, I cannot do complete kits now, but I have purchased enough parts for 5 "semi" kits that should help with the most difficult parts. The semi kits consist of: 1x TPD PCB 7x 7segment LED display green 2x duo LED matrix module 1x rotary encoder with switch 4x three-legged common cathode duo LED, clear or diffuse, you decide These are thought for people who are really having difficulties finding these - as I had to pay import duties to Norway you will most probably be cheaper if you can order them elsewhere. I am asking 24€ plus shipping per semi kit as above. For more information about the TPD have a look in the Wiki: http://www.midibox.o....php?id=tpd_pcb PM me or post interest here, I can ship immediately. Best, ilmenator

Ja, die Lötstellen sehen teilweise wenig vertrauenserweckend aus. Das wäre auch mein erster Ansatzpunkt. Grüße, ilmenator

He is a busy guy and has a life outside of MIDIbox. You could try to get hold of him in the chat.

Go ask SmashTV directly - how are the rest of us supposed to know?
