Welcome aboard, * It is possible to create such a unit using the LPC1769 (and it is fast enough for this task) but it would require custom programming for it. Have a look in the MIOS32 coding tutorials section on ucapps.de - fine examples there. * You can call it sequencer, albeit it is not a classical one (pattern storage etc) * There is no big difference in programming between a modern pc based cpu and and the microcontroller used on the LPCXpresso. MIOS32 comes with an underlying "realtime" layer that allows for near-parallel operations and provides modern concurrent programming tools such as mutexes.

Mit der Formel kannste ausrechnen welchen Vorwiderstand in Abhängigkeit der an der Diode anliegenden Spannung Du wählen möchtest. UGes = 5V IF=20mA (max, effektiv vermutlich irgendwo zwischen 3 und 10mA) UF für normale rote LEDs liegt zwischen 1.6 und 2.1V. Im Datenblatt steht dafür VF und ist bis 2.5V in Ordnung. brauchst nicht viel rechnen, probiers einfach aus, 220 Ohm ist heller, 1000 Ohm ist dunkler.

Hi, hatte im Tutorial genau die gleichen roten Kingbright Flat Top LEDs ("V32") mit 1k Widerständen verwendet, 220 war mir etwas zu hell, sollte aber auch gehen. Mittlerweile find ich 1k jedoch etwas dunkel, das kann aber an den vielen anderen Störlichtern (non-mb6582) liegen ;-) Am besten Du probierst das einfach mal auf nem Steckbrett aus. Thx dude :-) I have already used the windows-based editors - they are nice but you need a computer and have no dedicated knobs which always feel better :-) - same goes for the ipad for me. It feels like a virtual girlfriend :-). It would be a dream to be able to configure the 8+8 FM Operators of the FS1R with about 32 encoders and have a graphical display to reflect the settings :). Maybe later on, or I can convince the Antix-MIDIbox factory to work that out for me :D. The unit rockz and i can recommend it to everyone looking for FM heaven :) - will do an audio demo when i have some patches ready (hard to learn fm stuff when you just know subtractive theory). These "programmer" projects are very interesting - I managed to obtain a Yamaha FS1R last week and while the preset soundz rock the house, its user interface feels like it was made by the pope - "no sins if you go to bed early". So I am interested in your progress - would you document it? If I had enough time to build one, I would start using a new LPC17 core, a nice screen (e.g. the OLED from the MBSID V3) for graphical parameter display... and enough "overloaded" buttons and encoders to control every significant parameter of the unit. :-) the glue will cure at some point ;-) Could you tell us more about the EEFV VCA solution you choose? How does it compare to Seppomans Solution? Would you create a blog/tutorial on how to connect this to the baseboard? Would be great for electronic noobs like me :-) I don´t think analog filtering is soo necessary for the excellent SIDs (they really have quite nice filters which add to their specific sound), but VCAs would be a great addition for more expressive live keyboard playability ;-) Best regards, Hawkeye

If Wilba or Smash are asked nicely, it should be possible to obtain one, I guess :-)

There seems to be some excess flux on the backside of the control surface pcb, as well on the frontside (near J1)... maybe you can try cleaning it: Also some of the solder points don´t look 100% optimal, maybe you can reheat them, suck away the solder (with a vacuum pump) and resolder them (especially around the encoder and the resistor networks RN1-4). Make sure your soldering iron tip is cleaned before soldering. Greetz, Peter

ist auf jeden Fall aufwendig - ich tät bei nem Seq V4 (sehr ansehnliche und verständliche Codebasis!) beginnen und ihn runterstrippen... aber ist ne gute Menge Arbeit! Wenn Du die Compiler-Toolchain aufgesetzt hast (->Wiki) und alle Tutorials für MIOS32 (->ucapps.de) durchgearbeitet hast und verstehst, haste gar keine schlechten Chancen. Viele Grüße, Peter

It was a pleasure, mono... the seq somehow magically gets more powerful every day, i hardly turn the computer on anymore ;-). Optimum setup for me (if i would produce real tracks and not only do quick demos) would be to use the seq as a main workhorse and have a good multichannel recorder "synced" to the seq, creating audio snipplets for all relevant synth channels, which then would be assembled and mastered via computer later on, on a audio workstation with a big screen (two phased workflow). Hi there, The voltage seems high, even before your 20V measurement, I guess for most uses a 12V supply should be max. What kind of PSU it is? Regulated or Unregulated? Could you provide us with more information, which kind of MIDIbox SID (SammichSid, Modular, MB6582) it is? Which and how many SIDs are you using? Depending on the type of your MIDIbox SID, there are instructions in the Wiki how to measure correct voltages on various locations on the PCB. If you are confident, that your PSU is suitable for your MIDIbox (I am not sure right now), first remove your SIDs to protect them, then measure voltages and report back. Best regards Edit: just saw your previous posts... 15V is ok for a 6581 which requires 12V (and you use a 12v voltage regulator)... can you remove the SID and measure voltages then?

No, to be more precise: :frantics: Regarding the global/session question - there surely are scenarios where one wants to configure bookmarks specifically for a session (your echo track 3 scenario), but on the other hand, i guess it can become quite confusing if everything is completely different between the sessions. So for me it would be ultra-cool to have global "base bookmarks", in which I personally would configure the first say 8 bookmarks (GP1-8) for "standard UI views" and then have "per session/override bookmarks", in which the remaining 8 bookmark slots would be used specifically for that session.
