  2. I just watched some of the other videos that you have on Youtube - the Elektruck ones (the bus) with the school kids really impressed me. Keep up the good work!
  3. Yes, MIDIbox is the right platform for this type of application. You could either program this yourself from scratch, e.g. using a set of look-up tables, or base your application on the MB-NG framework. As hardware platform I would recommend the most recent core board, i.e. the STM32F4 based core.
  4. As the gate triggers are not arranged in a matrix configuration it should not matter where in the chain they are located. I guess the critical timing issues only arise when matrixing ins/outs. For these (like the BLM), an equal number of DIN and DOUT SRs should precede in the chain to keep the timing undistorted.
  5. That is right, there are 9 DOUT shift registers but only 1 DIN. It seems best to simply leave the TPD at the end of the chain and ignore the OUT port then.
  6. What other known switch does the tactile feedback compare to? In the end, that would be a much more important selection criterion for me than fancy light .

  8. Check the data sheets and answer that question yourself! After spending quite some time thinking about a DIY audio matrix I ended up buying analog patchbays. Probably my best studio purchase in the last couple of years...
  9. Hehe, you fixed the location display bug - now I have to remove my ": "
  10. 8. When receiving PMs, it also automatically triggers a notification. This is not useful, because I already get the red mark next to the messages symbol. To get rid of the red notifiaction mark, I need to have a look at the notifications, although I already know that there is a message waiting for me... Unfortunately, the "administrator has disabled this option from being toggled" in the notification settings. 9. I am missing the "go to first unread entry" button that used to be located in the upper right corner of the topic panel. This was the single most used feature for me when checking the forum, and I'd really like to get this back if possible.
  11. Ted, for these things it helps dramatically when you say where you are located :-)!
  12. Ja, es gibt leider noch mehr Beispiele für Dinge, die auf der Strecke geblieben sind: - der "go to first unread post" Button fehlt - das Leerzeichen hinter "Location" fehlt: Bsp. "Locationupper-austria" bei Phatline
  13. I'd be interested as well, as I have about 30 used ones kicking around somewhere. But I doubt that I ever get the time to try them out myself. Also, they come in different screen and color resolutions.
  14. About the Mouser ordering: people keep forgetting that there will be a brokerage fee, e.g. from UPS or whoever handles the transportation. This fee includes the VAT plus the money they want for paying the VAT upfront for you. The bill usually arrives a few weeks later. So, take that into account as well you Europeans!
  15. Cool! How many colors am I supposed to see? I see four (green, blue, and two mixtures) - is this correct?
  16. You didn't mention that your intention was to sell the stuff not on the MIDIbox forum but via *bay. We usually encourage direct sales via the forum, as people here tend to have a rough understanding of the DIY idea and the kind of support they can expect should a box go bad. If that sale offering is not fruitful here then sellers can move on to try it on *bay. Advertising a *bay listing in the forum is considered bad style by some.
  17. I've received a number of requests in the last weeks for TPD kits but I was out of boards. This is just to let you know that the boards have finally made it through customs, so get in touch with me if you want to add the TPD to your SEQv4.
  18. I am not TK, but a few years back we all agreed that there is generally no problem with one-off sales whatsoever, so you can go ahead and sell your MIDIbox stuff in the market section. Good luck!
  19. Optocouplers are part of the MIDI specs - every MIDI device has to have them in the MIDI ins. And yes, they do happen to go bad. Having three bad ones in a row is somewhat unusual, though...
  20. That sounds logical at first but is not the whole truth. Shipping abroad means modified workflows, training for employees, and other issues that are simply not worth it for the occasional customer from the US.
  21. That's right, from a merchant's point of view it probably doesn't make sense for them to even consider shipping to the US. It's not so long ago they started to serve customers in most of Europe, i.e. beyond Germany.
