Ok, that should work without a problem. Since i don't own a Sammichsid and there is no schematic available, i am at a loss here. Just some suggestions: Did you double check that the shunt settings on JBL and JR4 are set correctly for your lcd. Check for shorts on the lcd connector.

On an unused pcb it shouldn't. But with the components installed i am pretty sure that R3 and R4a tie the collector and emitter leg to ground :wink: But with closer inspection i see that T1 is used for the LCD. Could you tell me what psu you are using and could you measure it's power output on the psu connector?

Did you use a highpower unregulated PSU? because it sounds like your backlight haz gone up in smokes. Please check the output of the PSU with a multimeter on the connector. If you use an unregulated one you will measure something like 14V on it.

Just for reference T1 is the BC337 transistor (which i assume is the currentsink for the front panel leds). I had a quick look at a photo in the build guide. I assume you did a continuity measurement. Since all the pads are directly or indirectly connected to ground i don't think you can conclude the T1 pads are shorted. Did you do Step 2: Voltage Tests on the Control Surface PCB from the build guide without IC's installed?

It's a nice solution. The PT78ST105 has a slightly higher switching freq (600 kHz) over the Traco (500 kHz). And the PT78ST105 has a little more headroom if people have a display which uses a bit more. Downside is it is a little more expensive then the Traco.

I actually have two. One is still sealed, as it came from Smash. The other one is basically build and ready to go.

At the moment i have a Xiron 8 inch tablet. It's basically the same as Newman Newsmy P9 and Hyundai H700. But i think a 9,7inch tablet is a better option. That gives you the same resolution as an iPad. So i might opt for Xiron 10 inch which is the same as CUBE9T and Newman K97. But at the moment i am just waiting to see what happens on the market. I would really like a tablet with Android ICS. Since it is a big improvement.

What's so hard about it? You fire up Mios Studio. Load setup_8580.hex and then press start. Then power on your midbox core8 and wait for upload to finish. I have managed it and i certainly don't have masters degree in electronics. Btw. Your posts could do with some better punctuation. Makes it much easier to read and thus help you. Have you read the MB SID Walkthrough? You need MIOS Studio and setup_8580.hex (hint it's hidden in midibox_sid_v2_0_rc38.zip). All can be downloaded here.

I am sure i visited all those pages when searching for a MS20 Filter clone. Not sure why you posted this in the MB SID forum. Midibox User Projects would have been a better place. Although i don't see relevance to Midibox project at the moment. So maybe Miscellaneous would be even better. Maybe you can combine the project with the new MB CV.
