Hi everybody, After spending my weekend on reading and brainstorming about the MBFM , I have some ideas i would like to share =) First , i will talk about the Pros and Cons of the MBFM "V2.1" on STM32F4 made by Sauraen and Evolution of Control Surfaces. By studying the way Sauraen worked about FM synthesis and especially in his try to make MBFM evolve, i learnt much. Pros : His Control Surface is visual , advanced and you have quite quick access to parameters when you understood the thing . Driven by the new CORE32 , much fonctionnalities are available. Cons : His Control Surface is

Yo! See picture. Finally decided to part with a way-too-long-ongoing project. A little history about this piece of crap... I started this project many years ago. I was gonna have a SID synthesizer, and I was gonna have the best SID synthesizer. So I bought the sexy junk in the attached picture. Full of energy, I started to put this together. This was finally going to happen. But as it usually works - sometimes life takes some turns here and there that is not exactly planned for. Suddenly, there was kids. Then a larger old house (piece-of-shit) suddenly was mine - or rather the bank's :D heh

hey guys, i am planning on getting some midibox pcbs done, mostly cause i need them myself but i might just do a slightly bigger run and make them available to the community at cost. mostly i am looking to do a version of @Fairlightiii's rotary encoder / led ring board: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=mb-lre8x2cs_rev4.6 4x2 encoders seems fine, as discussed here but i really want to do a 4x1 version instead, to keep it more modular for different configurations. now here's the thing. by now i got back into electronics enough that i can (barely) assem

I have a few line driver PCB's left which a don't use. Included in the photo are the finished PCB's for reference. PCB's will be sold without components. A set (1 receiver PCB and 1 transmitter PCB) is €5. Shipping to most European countries is €4. If you're interested in buying a set let me know where you live and I can verify the shipping costs.

Okay, my google fu is not up to par, and this is my first go at KiCad, but: I've been trying to find schematic files I can open in KiCad (i.e. not pdf's) for the Midibox modules. How do you all do this? I "think" it's possible to import the .brd files in KiCad, if I use the nightly build. Not sure what's an efficient work flow.

I currently want to build the MIDIO 128 v3 (including the lpc17) so i managed to buy a lpxpresso1769. The components are easy to get, but i didnt find any way to get the PCB. Is there any way to buy a PCB online thats already made? oh, and does anyone know what the dimensions of the PCB are? i just found the datasheet including the Value 100 x 120, but im not sure about the unity. Greetings, Kilian

Hello all, I am looking for the PCB for Wilba's front panel. Unfortunately, it is sold out in SmashTV's shop since summer already. Hence my questions: (1) Does anyone have a spare one I could buy? or (2) If other people are interested in getting one, and I somehow get the Gerber files, should I organise a group buy and have some produced? I am located in Germany :) Best wishes and a great start into the new year, Karg

From the album: EuroTPD v1.0
A screenshot of the newly created EuroTPD, a Track Position Display board better suited for Eurorack systems. It seems there was some interest in this. -
So, after much time ogling and reading up on Midibox projects, I finally decided to start going headfirst into it. Curious, though - has anyone used the Livid Instruments Builder series Omni RGB boards for their projects? Do they play nicely with DIN/DOUT/AIN/AOUT modules? These seem to be a solid source for building up a control surface, particularly because they're pre-populated with RGB LEDs and the same 10-pin headers that MBHP uses. EDIT: link to the aforementioned part: http://shop.lividinstruments.com/rgb-omni/

Hi, As i said in an other message, my original plan was simply to put my old SID V1 back to life. I wanted to put it in a RACK 1U because i have too many little boxes everywhere around here. Very quickly i decided to upgrade the PIC and add a second SID to have a stereo V2. Then the project has grown. Here is the current status... The rack front panel (screenshot from front panel designer) : The knobs will be pots. I played a little with one pot on my mockup and it's very fun to control parameters with them. The 2 surface control PCBs : (They includ

Hi, I'm in need of a DOUTx4 pcb, it needs to be the latest version which is R5 Thanks George

Hi, I still have 6 naked MBHP CORE LPC17 V1.0 laying around here. (see photo's). I had ordered 10 pcb's and built 4 core modules. I gave away one and still have 3 here. That is more than enough for my experiments, I don't need more. So if anyone is interested in a few or all of them, let me know your address, and how many you want. I will send them to you for free (except postage cost - via paypal) Postage cost within Europe : 3.5 euro for 1 or 2 PCB's in a foam envelope (<100g) 7 euro for more PCB's together in a foam envelope (<350g) Grtz, Serge

TK has already mentioned it in I have created a PCB for the MIDIbox Standard Control Surface (SCS) that does not require any shift registers and connects directly to J10A of the core board. The SCS module integrates nicely into the MIOS framework, check out tutorial #027 if you want to learn how to use this in your own project. Or just use it for a simple user interface in your MIDIBox CV V2. I have tried to accommodate footprints for a number of different switches: I succeeded with the Marquardt 6425 series, the ITT Schadow D6 series available at Reichelt, and the E-Switch 612-TL1100 ser

The RGB LED matrix described here can be used to signal feedback to the user, as for example in my MIDI Matrix with 56 Inputs and 56 Outputs. But, it can also be used for fancy stuff, Vegas mode, bling, impressing your neighbours,… The PCB is as wide as the RGB LED modules themselves, with enough space above and below for mounting holes. This means that the modules can easily be chained horizontally in order to create type crawls. If you cut off the top and bottom mounting holes along the line that is printed on the PCB then you can also create larger screens extending in two d

Looking for a seqv4 pcb to complete my project. Anyone? I realize these are rare right now. i figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. ;)

Hi all, as a by-product of my latest project, the MIDIbox Matrix (a MIDI router with up to 56 in- and out-ports), I have created a PCB for the Standard Control Surface or SCS. This little board assumes that you are using a 2x24 character LCD and 4 items per menu page. This is slightly more character space per menu entry than what TK is using, however the code is fully configurable to handle this. Personally, I find the 5 available characters per menu item much more comfortable and less cryptic than lower character counts. Assuming that you want to use both shift and exit buttons for na
