  2. Midi Port forwarding/sharing

Upgraded my systems recently to Windows 7 and "SCHWOPP!" all my midi interface's was gonners. So what to do?   1. Find hacked win98/xp drivers to win7? Tuff luck!   2. Run XP in VMWare and hope youl'd get the drivers to work from within? Hmm.. might work..   3. Make a slave win98 machine and forward it all over LAN to the new one? Now we're talking!    (4. The slave win98 machine forwards all ports to a "MIDI to Serial converter" program and..TADAA! you are forwarding 8 or 12 COM ports via LAN and then converts the COM's to MIDI ports again on the Win7 machine...Hmmm.. serious latency risk? Probably but.. could work! Any full RAW MIDI to Serial to MIDI converters out there?)   So.. the problem is to find a program that works by the following orders: * Support to work under both Win98, XP and Win7. * Able to forward 8 or hopefully even more MIDIports. * Bidirectional function. * Support FULL MIDI, SystemExlusive that is. * Freeware (or a least affordable for the one with a very slim budget. So those $79,99 commercial versions is off.)   Any suggestions? Tobias Erichsens rtpMIDI is great but only supports XP and not Win98 which tends to be the problems in 99,5% of all those I found out there. I need the win98! Got some old LPT interface's and serials that wont run under XP.     Known programs (all nonwin98 compliant or not accessable): Copperlan rtpMidi - XP, Free! ethernetMIDI (http://www.linuxsampler.org/ethernetmidi/) Works in Win98 but only the sourcecode remains at the server, no zip file. :hmm: ipMIDI MIDI over LAN   Anyone?
  3. Hi, I'm having trouble with DIN R5, just insert the ribbon on J1 and I receive on midi in an avalanche of messages (Buttons-note on / off). I'm working on NG Default but I have tried also with Midio128, same problem. I tested resistance and welding on DIN and it all looks ok. Have any of you ever encountered this problem?   Thank you.
  4. Hi,   I recently purchased a second Sony DMX-R100 for extension cards. I removed the cards to go into my own desk and have this one up for sale. Sony dropped the pro audio market a few years ago, but this desk is still top notch - it is the Oxford's small brother and features excellent mic pre-amps as well as one of the best sounding EQs you'll find in a digital mixer regardless of price tag. And yes, this is not just my personal opinion :phone: . 12 mic inputs and 24 line ins, 8 buses, 12 inserts, 8 aux sends and returns, 6 monitor outs for surround monitoring, 88.2 / 96kHz capable, etc. pp. It also has 9-pin Machine control and MIDI. No fan - this desk is convection cooled and silent! Can be extended to up to 48 full parallel input channels via optional cards.   This particular desk has seen a bit of rock'n'roll, but is in excellent technical condition. It has been regularly serviced by a technician in Oslo, as it was used in a band rehearsal facility's recording studio. All faders are running smooth and the touch screen is working as it should (but you can also connect mouse and external monitor to the desk). There is a slight scuff on the lower center of the touchscreen, just where the virtual "CUE" button is located - this is cosmetic only and does not affect the touch functionality at all. Also, there are two major "wear areas" on the desk itself where the paint is gone, see the pictures attached. There is a little crack in the perspex covering the meter bridge - obviously, this does not affect the meters and is not visible when the LED bars are on. I can remove the paper stickers if you want. It does neither smell smoke nor beer . It is still one of the best sounding desks around. I'd keep this for spares should my other one ever give up (very unlikely, though) but my wife says it is too much...   I am originally located in Norway, but will be traveling to Germany in about two weeks from now. I'll drive through Denmark from Hirtshals down to Flensburg, mit weiteren Stationen in Reinbek, Herten, Erfurt, Lörrach und Selb, also durch die halbe Republik. Für einen Versand ist das Pult leider etwas zu schwer (55kg) und groß, es sei denn, ihr organisiert Abholung in Selb selbst. Fragen gerne auch auf deutsch!     Best regards, ilmenator   PS: The desk is sold now, thanks for your interest.
  5. Hello everybody,    I have a design concept for a 13 pin midi female to 2 female 13 pin sockets, i.e. a 13 pin midi splitter.  I was wondering if this is already available on the market or if I need to build one, e.g. would screening be a problem with interference noise being created if I just solder one unit together (or can I find pin connector terminals so that I do not need to solder?)    The purpose of this is to play a Axon PU 100 pickup guitar into 2 Axon AX 100 midi controllers. Thank you Dunstan
  6. 64 Buttons Midibox

  10. I have a Tascam FW-1884 fire wire DAW Control & Interface. The fire wire bus is really shotty and tascam doesn't have any drivers for my OS. I was wondering if I could use parts from it to build a new controller?
  11. Hey, I've managed to damage the USB port on my Midi Keyboard. It is now loose. The keyboard still gets power but my laptop doesn't detect the keyboard is connected.   As you can probably tell I'm not that clued up on circuit board repairs so would appreciate any help. I've got the circuit board out but there's no obvious connection that needs repair apart from the USB port being extremely 'wobbly'. Anyone have any idea the best way to fix this?   cheers,   Jake
  12. MIDI Merge Help

Hi All,   I'm building a 2-core MIDIO 128, and have everything up and running...EXCEPT, the two refuse to merge.  Each core works perfectly independently, and I get the appropriate MIDI data output. I've created new .syx files for each core with merge enabled (I've tried only doing one at a time, as well), and even had a friend send me known-working .syx files for a 2-core setup like mine. Still nothing! Core 0 (outputting to the PC) works just fine when the two are daisy-chained, but core 1 does nothing.
